Don't think we actually talked, but I was in the same room as him back @ the 2001 Celebration for one of the Rainbow Children listening parties. Larry Graham and his wife were there too. After listening to the LP, we got to discuss "the truth" for the next 2hrs or so. Probably the most uncomfortable experience of my life. Love the guys music, but I have no desire to interact with him again like that.

Was this after the Marquee aftershow? I don't seem to recall there being another one on the ONA tour.

I was one of the 5 lucky orgers who spoke to Prince at a club after a London One Nite Alone concert!

Basically we were sent into some back room by an official woman who maybe thought we were staff or special members as we had our NPGMC lamyards on, everyone else went into the dance floor area. There were a few couchs here and about 10 other people.

A security guard asked us to move from the couch as Prince was going to sit there!! eek

So we didn't move far, just to the opposite one!

And so in walked P and sat down all on his own (very surprised he was on his own!) He must have been about 10 feet away.

I looked at him a bit but not too much as I thought he wouldn't want people staring!

Then he suddenly came over to us and asked "hey fellas, where are your women?"

The reason why he asked was he was unsure that there were these guys sitting around and no women it might have been a gay club! We all laughed.

He then chatted to a guy in our group from Holland about bootlegging (couldn't hear what he was saying as the music was loud), but he seemed to relate it to him stealing the man's jacket and then selling it.

I really wanted to speak to him but I was very nervous and in awe, so then I asked him "how can you sleep for so little" (I've always wanted to know, and it WAS 2am!) to which he replied "U sleep when u die."

I answered "and live tired" to which he said very seriously "I never get tired."

He then went to the dance room with about 6 bodyguards who seemed to come out of nowhere, and spoke brielfy to the crowd in there.

smile

p.s: one of the best parts was, as it was loud, he had to lean forward to hear me so I spoke in his ear. So I have litterly seen Prince from a couple of inches away!

YES..he served me tea!!..and sent me 2the kitchen in paisley 2get something 2eat, after he asked me if I were hungry, and I replied; Yes! Once in the kitchen, there were only graham crackers, honey, and water available..(note: he didn't know that, later he said he thought there was more food there & apologized..I was fine tho.. biggrin ), I had a sound guy keep me company (off & on) until the meeting was over.

P introduced me 2his dove, there was only 1 at the time, showed me from the staircase; pointing 2the kitchen I was to busy following him and not paying attention to what he was saying (I'm past all that now, this was our first major encounter - I mean he is one of the best at Music creation w/in itself..), he went back in2 his meeting - while I found the kitchen & a sofa and began 2watch "desperatley seeking susan w/Madonna" on the tube.., I stretched out on that sofa (he said; make urself at home!!)..TRUE STORY..he came back after the meeting about 45 min. - 1 hour later..(I must admitt, I was laid out on the sofa, and felt a bit funny, but he didn't mind), and he asked if I needed anything else..I replied no thank u..and it was joking around from there on 4the next 20 minutes or so. I was w/an old mutual friend, who had a meeting with him..p was very nice, very kind, & very, very polite. A true gentleman!! My experience from then on has always been gentle, he speaks whenever he see's me out in public and/or otherwise..regardless of his being one of the baddest Musicians in the universe..he's always polite..delightful, spirit filled w/Love!! wink

I'm not a religious person so I didn't have any desire to be part of the conversation but my ride was there too (hi, Kari!) so I was kinda stuck. Reminded me of the two times I went to church as a kid which also weirded me the f out

We've had a few conversations. I met him in 2006 when I was 12 and we talked a few times after that about the lack of female musicians and various stuff like that.
What is your main problem?
To whom it may concern: I love you!

yes many times, when we use to live in Minneapolis (about 11 years ago) my little girl use to hang out with Mani and her mom when we were at Paisley park events. she would just snuggle her self up next to Prince or Larry or Tina Graham while the concerts were going on.She is now 18 and talks about how much fun she had.I found all the artist (Mint Condition, Nora Jones,The Blackshire brothers ect....) to be very friendly and always willing to talk to anyone who talked to them.Prince was (suprisingly) easy to talk to as well.

I wrote such a elliquant page of information and somehow it all just dissapered. So dilagent that I am I will try to summerize what I was saying.Roger you are the real brother I never had.If I could choose family since I dont have any I would definately choose you.Besides the fact we look alike,my father was Black and Indian and the woman that birthed me was Italian and French, the fact that we naturaly have swag and we acheive things to the best of our abilities makes us leaders. You are the kind of family I wished I would have had.I once wished Patti Labelle could be my mother, she is a great cook and so am I,she is loving, giving, kind and she is the best at what she does in life as am I.I have been secluded and alone on this earth in my life time having to humble my greatness for a better place and time, a time that god says if we are not first now we will be in the new system.Your conviction to live forever brings me a since of encouragement knowing that if you as my older brother can show the world your love for our heavenly father what passion you must posses. You are in my thoughts and prayers and I would love to know in the new system we could listen to extroidinary music from you, what a privelage that will be.With our greatness we are worthy to be family, brother and sister I Love You and I pray You get this message. If you choose not to adopt me Roger I will ask you again in the new system.I am a little ruff around the edges the world use me and tried to spit me out but I am a bad mamma jammer and no one can change that. With my love allways, Ms.Lady of Love

I was THERE, when the internet lost its battle with Prince. I mean, I admire Prince and all, but I like the Internet also. It was just lying there, bearly a pulse, so I reached into by goody back and pulled out a smoke full of TCHP, and lit it up. I placed it in the Internet's mouth, and it smiled, "Looks like this is it bro. Hope you enjoyed access to all of that free porn, cause its all over now." I screamed no, and began giving the Internet CPR.

Prince placed his hand on my shoulder and said, "That pirating bastard must die. Let it go."

I looked at him and said, "It's not all about pirating. You can't encapsulate the Internet that way. It's just a technology, the pirating is done by people. It's all about us. Humanity, man, humanity."

Prince said, "It is robbing people of their real identities, as the insecure cloak themselves in pseudo identites, it has taken the publishing duties from the talented and placed it in the hands of the small time dealer, and reduced the commerce of the United States Post office. It is an inherit evil."

"I can't let it die. I can't. If not for the Internet, I would have never known about or gotten my hands on 2010....... that crappy half hearted album you just released, that has made me second think your abilities and your artistic ability, lessening my god-like opinion of you that I always adored...... on second thought," I kicked the Internet, "you are right," and covered the Internet's mouth and began to give it pillow therapy. "Die you motherf....."

Prince pulled me back and said, "So you bought the album through the net?" He tossed me aside, "Is there a doctor around? Somebody get me a doctor! We have to save the internet!"

We are all so full of doody here
