Even though I absolutely dislike his output (both studio and live) since 2004, new old things keep surfacing in the bootleg world every now and then with a much improved quality.

That and the outtakes is what kept (and keeps) me on board for the time being.

I don't need to start 'I'm boring so I'm leaving' threads and then stay.

Get over it Vitriol, will you - or do you have to mention this everytime neutral razz

I love music. If he keeps putting out music, no matter what the quality, I'll still love him.

Yep and his wonderful live performances...cool

If I really think about it, I feel spoiled by Prince. How many artisits out there have released *at least* one album per year for over 30 years???? I mean, GOT DAYAMN.

Business tactics and religious/personal beliefs aside, he still excites me. So much of his output over the past 10 years rivals some of his best work. When I hear albums like T.R.C, O.N.A Piano, N.E.W.S, 3121 & Lotusflow3r, most of the songs sound fresh and inspired. Yes, there are some REAL duds mixed in, too (the duds many of us can't seem to agree on, though...part of his brilliance, perhaps?)

It's rare I feel the need to say "THANK YOU" Prince, but...

cool I am still a fan because I believe that his genius is immeasureable. I am convinced that 100 years from now Prince will be talked about the same way that we today speak of Bach and Beethoven!!!!!

Because he amazes me today even more than he did back in the late 80s, early 90s ... and boy was I crazy about him then! wink I have always remained a fan, even though I did not give him much attention from the early 00's till 2007. But he immediately excited me again with his Superbowl performance in 2007, as well as the shows in London, an when I finally saw him live again this year in Vienna I was blown away completely!! No one can fascinate me as deeply as he does - nothing compares 2 PRINCE! biggrin I also admire that he can still surprise everyone!

I still like his music. In fact I like it more now than in 1995.

He is the only musician I listen to on a regular basis. I love many other musician's work, but his music just stands out so much. I have been listening to 2010 constantly since I got it. That is close to 2 months and I still love it. I barely touch the other music I buy/download. Without him I would probably barely touch my ipod or stereo.

^ I really love your enthusiasm, Johnny3121. biggrin

I wish I could be as enthusiastic when it comes to "modern Prince" (post 1995).

I mean there's always a good track or a few on every album, but still the music isn't the same no more. It's more sterile, not "dirty funky" like in "old days".

.......... imo wink

ps I'm still here - on the Org, cuz I still LOVE the old stuff & I have nowhere else to go razz

My reasons to still being a fan of Prince:

1) Even though most of Prince's recent music sounds uninspired to me, I absolutely love - and will always love - Prince's old music released on Warner Bros. 1978 to 1995.

2) Prince can still make a great concert

3) I am still hoping for a Prince album masterpiece, even though I know it might not ever happen again.

4) To be a Prince fan. For me it's like an old marriage, you don't want to brake it - and leave, even though it's not filled with so much emotion like it used to.

All good points. I would also like to add that there is such a small amount of good music out there today that we keep looking to him to put out something worthwhile and brilliant.

Well the simple answer is he is the best . . He was the best and he still is the best . . What other artist has a back catalogue like prince has ? . . Noone . . I am still discovering new stuff he recorded or songs he worked on or whatever . . He can be a horrible wee control freak but he is absolutely fasinating . . You never really know what he is Going to do next and thats a big part of his appeal . . Becoming boring is a cardinal sin for any artist and prince has never been boring to me . . I understand people saying that his music isnt as good but i think thats very unfair . . That initial creative spark that he had lasted ten years ? . . Noone can keep it Going forever . . He still makes great music . Just maybe not hitting the heights he once did . . I thought the lotusflower disc was a great album and i am not alone in thinking that . . . I still love listening to it . . Thats as close to a masterpiece as prince is Going to get imo . . I really enjoy 20Ten . . Think its a good album and i look forward

Because the music is still good. It may not be as good, and it might be harder to find the gold, but when you shake the pan and find a nugget, there is nothing better.

His music continues to make life sweeter. Whether it's having fun, exploring other forms of music, philosophizing about lyrics or dissecting the sounds, he just never ceases to engage me in some way. That is why he's still my favorite artist and musician, in particular, 'cause music is somehow closer to the heart. He's just too much. Love Prince.

I adore Prince and couldn't imagine ever not loving him and his music!!! HE is the best singer, songwriter, and guitar player I've ever seen. In fact, Prince is music. Whatever he does shines bright. I could never get enough of his old music and I see the new music taking that same effect on me. And I'm a fan of the man!! I find him to be the most attractive man I've ever laid eyes on. And I love his style, I love how he does whatever he wants and is still so confident and cool about it. And I love how he's always been religious, he's always used his gift from GOD. Prince has always wowed me in everything he's done and I love that. Prince has got it!! I will love and support him forever!! biggrin

Prince is GORGEOUS. I'm inspired. GOD is GREAT. Is there anything else to say? lol

I'm still a fan of Prince because he is so talented. I've never met him but he feels like
a part of my family I've been a fan of Prince since the age of 16 and I've seen him perform
about 5 times. If I'm a friend or a fan of someone I'm a friend 2 the endhug
