This is a discussion board. Prince being sued in court YET AGAIN for not paying someone is the topic of this discussion. I have an opinion on the matter because I have witnessed Prince's diligence when it comes to him being paid for his work, so I questioned why it is so hard for him to practice what he preaches.

The only thing I stated as fact is "People...even lawyers...should be paid and paid on time for their work." At the end of the day, that's all that really matters. If he's owed and paid YOU, then I'd understand your being so defensive. As it happens...........

Hehe - I don't disagree People, anyone, is entitled to be compensated for their work, both fairly and in a timely fashion.....yes, even lawyers! But I don't think I'm being defensive of Prince per se, rather the fact that we perhaps shouldn't judge the case without knowing the facts. If he is being an ass, like he was over the Croke Park affair, then I wouldn't be defending him over that. Illegitimately witholding payment or breaking agreements which results in a financial loss can ruin businesses and livelihoods and is not good practice.

Well you and few others have commonsense but most on this board do not. They think the super wealthy sit around paying their own bills and opening their mail (duh) and they thing $50,000.00 is a lot of money to the super wealthy. They have no idea what is going on yet they all act as if P owes them money (LOL)

i do find it odd that he expects others to do business swiftly, promptly and professionally

yet under his own roof it doesnt appear to happen that way

the croke park issue was a mess, which prince lost the case on that one, most likely due to ineptness in his own camp

and despite the fact that this lawyer is only suing for 50 grand, its obviously something he is owed and is yet to be paid for

i dont see how its reasonable to defend Prince or his staff in this situation

Only a super wealthy, wealthy, rich, and even just got a few dollars in their pocket...person...that is a damn fool, is not on top of their financial affairs! The expression, "a fool and his money are soon parted" was created for that very reason!

Speaking as a person that has followed Prince's career as long as I have, it stands to reason that Prince should damn well, KNOW BETTER than to trust, ALL of the complete aspects of HIS finances....on the day to day, week to week, as far as the month to month...to someone other than himself!

I know about this cuz I do it myself. In the front of his mind he really dont mean no harm but if you press it he really aint trying to pay no 50 gs for that stuff the lawyer probably did. I will defend Prince's cd releases until I actually think he is making poor music, then it is on, but even then, I will probably just move on. I will defend most of his tours, unless he does the Las Vegas style medleys like he did from 1996-2001. After all that, I have known a few of his inner circle, and he has been known to delay paychecks, and sometimes stop paying some while they were still in the band. There have been enough late payments, tax issues, and other things that just seem like he doesn't care. He's like my friend who just takes collection notices, and puts them in the trash. He will get cute and say the prefix to Money, is Mon, which is short for Monday, and create an analogy saying that means he doesn't have to pay his bills. To be honest, I don't really care. If he burns too many bridges, he could be in for it one day. I love his music so much, I forgive him...
