20ten European Release at Risk.

Just hit up Moquake and was shocked to find that Prince has cancelled the release of 20ten in Europe. Source: http://moquake.com/forum/...mp;start=0

This raises questions also raises question's about the UK release too. Today's video which contained snippets of three tracks from the album on Daily Mirror's website has since been taken down. Is this an indication that 20ten will no longer be released anywhere? This is a sad and extremely bad move in my opinion, this could destroy his career. Non fans will see him as a total idiot in demanding interviews and promotion for nothing to be released.

This has sadly making me upset, especially as i'm looking forward to the release and seeing him in Arras in less than two days sad

Peace and lots of love

It seems only the Courrier International release was postponed. No word from any of the other papers on postponing the release, let alone a cancellation.

I didn't mean to say that my bad. It obviously was my initial thought without thinking. All i'm saying is the average music person will just disguard any respect they have due to this development. You can't advertise a big thing like a cd so soon to the release date. Can you? It's obviously not 100% confirmed but i just thought i'd post this as this is quite strange.

Yeah it's the french release which has been postponed. But the Mirror incident today's seems really suspectious. It's obvious they haven't done what his said, maybe leaking material too soon, who knows?

How does it seem suspicous?

The article doesn't hint at a cancellation of anykind. It appears a shifting of dates is taking place, possible to prevent leaking on to the Internet on the 7th (I believe that's the original date).

Either way, Prince has cancelled the Black Album release after boxes of that thing shipped to retailers, and it didn't kill his career (and also gave birth the LoveSexy).

I think it would be difficult or impossible to stop the distribution of the newspapers since it's not a CD going to retailers. He can't tell the Mirror to halt their Sunday distribution in other words. And if he cost the papers (we're talking 2.5 million units, right?) financial, you bet he's be slapped with another Irish-style lawsuit (which I'm sure his European performances may be helping to finance lol ).

I doubt he'll cancel it, but if he does, I REALLY doubt it will kill his career nod

One thing's for sure. If he cancels it, being that it's already being prepped for distribution by now, you know that bitch is going to leak like a motherfucker. lol

The reason the snippets were taken down is Prince's anti-Internet pose, that's all. He wants the album not to leak in any digital form.

Keep in mind it might not be Prince's fault, there could be a problem with manufacturers or distributers or something to do with the contract etc

When something goes wrong with Prince's career, it's always Prince's fault.

I almost pissed myself when I seen his quote. I would have NO CLUE what Prince was doing without the Internet. lol

Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

The First Hall was called Oppression. There were many doors down this walk way.. Each with a name. The Names of children who are kept from the understanding that love is not freedom, love is slavery.

The next hall was called Victimise. There were many doors down this walk way... Each with a name. The Names of children who are kept from the understanding that Love is abusive, and comes with much pain.

The Third hall was called Molestation. There were many doors down this walk way... Each with a name. The Names of children who are kept from the understanding that Love is Sexual and only for the perverted.

The Next Hall was called Vanity. There was only ONE door down this walk way... This door had a name but was blurred by BLAME.

Once it hits a newspaper thats it, it will be everywhere, i really feel thats why he is discussing things with WB as a possible distributor here, but any label would b apprehensive of a cd that is already out, unless he is going to make it somewhat different for them

If he has Warner work out a deal to sell the album to stores, he'd probably put different songs on it for European audiences who had it for free. That's just what I'm thinking. Because if he was REALLY serious about the newspaper/magazine route, he'll go all out.

Up until this morning I have still heard the 20Ten radio advertisements broadcasted ... so I'm assuming that the newspapers wouldn't still be advertising the album coming out on Saturday unless they know for sure!

I still believe on the morning of the 10th of July, I will go to my newsstand, first thing in the morning, and pick up het Nieuwsblad with the new 20Ten CD.

I believe. I'm a believer.

Well, since people seem to have lost the ability to read the article properly,

here's what's actually going on...

The moQuake article does NOT say that Prince has cancelled the released of 20TEN in Europe.

Only the French release has been delayed.

Everywhere else will be releasing 20TEN on the 10th as planned.

The reason the French release has been delayed is because they were going to release it on

the 8th, but because it turns out that the French magazine is also distributed in Belgium, this

infringed on the Belgian deal. So the French magazine has been forced to delay their release.

Maybe if a lot of people are misreading it, it may not be written very well?

It certainly looks sensationalist the way it was formatted?

Just a thought.
