Yes my husband & I met Prince in Vegas, Dec 2006. He was very kind, quiet, and very nice to us. We chatted for a couple minutes at the 3121 Jazz Cuisine after an after show. He smelled so good like sweet flowers. I have nothing bad to say about meeting Prince "in person". I loved those couple minutes and will never forget it.

I've met him 3 different times out at Paisley, and Larry too- twice at Paisley and another time at Target. Both were very nice. Prince wasn't very talkative one on one, but during the Celebration we talked for a few minutes after the group discussion. He didn't say a lot - but wanted to know what I thought of the TRC album. He was very polite and welcoming. Larry was more outgoing and we talked at Target about the Lotusflower album and what he was up to at Paisley.
Regardless of what most ppl here think of Larry, he is a sweet man, and Prince is very lucky to have him as friend.

Plenty of people on this board have met him and had nice interactions. Try reading all the post before you jump to conclusions.

Laura I already know that. But just because he was on tour with Rick James doesn't mean he had had to be perpetually in a state of a grimace for 24 hours straight. Im well aware of Prince being super nicety to people but that comment that he wasn't nice because he was on tour with Rick James who was "mean to him" does not cut it...making it appear that he was supposed to have a permanent scowl to everybody he meets and interacts with. Come on now. He is human as you like to put out there so much.

-----
Yes, he is human and as a human he probably has good days and bad days and I am sure his attitude is going to be based on the kind of day he is having like all humans. If I was forced to travel with a bunch of pot -smoking asshole for a few months I would be in a bad mood and that is all I am trying to say. Not making excuses just keeping it real.

Never officially met but at a concert in 86-87 i forget which, I was front row center directly in front of him. There was a Saints football player there with his date they were sitting in the 3rd row and because we were standing and dancing they could'nt see the show. The Saints player went to get security and they made the 1st 2 rows sit down. Prince saw this, looked at me like WTF and said Get the FUNK UP!! And Dance!! We turned around to the Saints player and laughed our asses off. After the song (Dance On) Prince then gave me his guitar pic. Awesome nite!!
Prince did an interview with a woman at Record World. They talked about whatever, then he asked her: "Does your pubic hair go up to your navel?" At that moment, we thought maybe we shouldn't encourage him to do interviews.

He's been more accessible the last ten years what with the NPGMC sound checks and such, and i gotta say, during live shows, he seems like kind of a control freak. I would think he is kind of a dick based on the last ten years. Maybe he was cooler before. If anyone can share some shit from the 80's that may tell the real story.

I think you have it backwards. He had a real dick rep back in the 80's with his staff and no contact with fan whatsoever.

yes I met Prince but only for a moment. I guess I never thought I'd get that close to him and it took me by surprise. I froze. And then there was the time when Prince and Larry were standing nearby. It was during one of the Paisley shows, I wanted to go up and Thank them (for letting me be myself : ) but held back because I wasn't sure if I should. If the chance comes again, I'd certainly tell them what their music has meant to me headbang heart
