Yep better with time, though I've always loved it, and I agree better than all those listed above [3121 is closest though]. Only TRC and Lotusflow3r are better of the albums released after C&D.

You're kidding, right? I mean, The... Rainbow... Children? Really? I really do - one of my favourites. But this thread isn't about that... 18 & Over... I'd forgotten about the Come ep, so maybe it was never intended for C&D. However, if Right the Wrong and Chaos moved from project to project, and dont forget this happend many times, with other tracks, in the 80s, maybe 18&Over could have???? I guess we may never know, unless the FREE the original COME and C&D campaigns work!!!

I remember reading, I think in an Uptown write-up of Crystal Ball, that it was from early 1996. And according to their Days Of Wild, 20-27 May is the earliest trip had to L.A. that year. (It says in the Crystal Ball liner notes that it was recorded in L.A..) So I just put two and two together, I guess. Anyway, I tried Da Bang out for my own Ultimate Chaos And Disorder collection, but I didn't think the sound matched the sound of the other rock tracks, so I decided against including it. Hey. Just for completness, I've attempted to look up info regarding the recording of Da Bang. Unfortunately I couldn't find any direct info, however, according to The Vault made several trips to LA prior to May 1996, examples being on the 7 February and then attending Oscar parties. So there are at least two occaisions when it could have been recorded in early 1996 prior to the one you suggest. In addition, surely Da Bang is recorded with Sonny T and Michael Bland and by May 1996 the NPG [as we knew it then] had been disbanded. In May 1996, shot the video for Dinner With Delores [which incidently The Vault mentions as being a recent recording in 1996 and therefore de-bunks my 1994 Dolphin and Dinner theory - well you did tell me twice!!] On a seperate note; The Vault does have its inaccuracies, it states that the video for I Like It There was shot by 22 December 1994, as per Empty Room, Same December etc. but then goes on to say the song was recorded in Miami in March 1996! The Vault also states that an unreleased version of Right The Wrong was recorded , along with Chaos And Disorder in the Miami sessions with Sonny T and Michael Bland. [Edited 9/30/09 8:56am]

That's not an inaccuracy. As you can see from my list of chronological Chaos And Disorder recordings, did indeed record a new version of I Like It There with Sonny and Michael in Miami, but I think that I remember reading somewhere that it was the original version that ended up on the album. The main point is that Da Bang, be virtue of 0(+> being in LA earlier that year, could have recorded it before 26 April 1996, and hence could have been recorded with C&D in mind. Okay, let's analyse the ratings.
Ultimate Come: 6.517 views Ultimate Undertaker: 3.462 views Ultimate Gold Experience: 4.730 views Ultimate Exodus: 1.360 views Ultimate Chaos And Disorder: 2.246 views Obviously, Come is the album most fans are interested in, and NPG: Exodus is the one they are the least interested in. That's good. Come is my favorite project of the 1993-1996 era, too. Apparently the guitar rock albums The Undertaker and Chaos And Disorder aren't as popular as Come and Gold Experience with Chaos And Disorder attracting the least interest. So I guess Chaos And Disorder is the least popular album of this era. It's 's own fault for ruining the album before releasing it. Either that, or people simply lost interest in my writings. Let's be fair to Exodus, though. It was posted in the Associated Artists forum, which, by it's very nature doesn't really get as many views. Also, the timing of some of the Ultimate threads may have been affected by other hot threads like the Why U Wanna Treat Me So Bad rehearsal and the Shelbey/YouTube scandal. Either way, your threads are aces! If prince.org were to be made idiot proof, someone would just invent a better idiot.

The Come/Exodus/Gold was also my favourite era. One thing I would disagree a bit is your opinion on 'I Rock Therefore I Am' being a possible Symbols album out-take but we'll never know. Any plans for anymore of these? [Edited 10/2/09 1:08am]

Just read in August 1996 edition of The Continental magazine that during the February 1996 recording sessions, incl. the NPG Hornz, they recorded Sarah, Saviour and Damned If I Do and that they were all considered for inclusion on C&D.
In the same magazine, Prince is quoted, in an interview with Elysa Gardner in LA, that his approach to C&D was that he wanted to record the album quicky and that he achieved what he wanted to achieve in that period of time [e.g. the early 1996 sessions]. I guess this adds Sarah, Saviour and Damned if i do as possible C&D tracks, albeit from a early 1996 version [if one existed that differs to the released version].

scififilmnerd said: Rosie Gaines also added lead vocal to I Rock, Therefore I Am, which sounded like an outtake from the 1992 -album with horrible Jamaica-rap added by Steppa Ranks in the style of the 1993 Pink Cashmere (12” Remix) and a 1996 rap by Scrap D., possibly replacing a Tony M. rap. Scrap D. also appeared on a couple of Emancipation tracks that same year.
So... Do you think that Mr. Happy, Style and Da, Da, Da were all recorded at the same time of I Rock, Therefore I Am because they all feature Scrap D? Please discuss. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
