Prince in the workplace

So I'm a manager at a pizzeria and I always bring my laptop and play music (and surf the net on my down time). All of my employees know I am a big Prince fan and most of them are cool with it. All except one of my cooks (he's 17), he cringes when ever I mention him because he thinks he's too weird. W/E! I occasionally play prince songs at work and the customers like it. So one day when he was working I added a few prince tracks to my playlist:

Little Red Corvette
$
DMSR
Lets Work
Controversy

DMSR was the first song.... i caught him bouncing his head while making a pizza. I started smiling from ear to ear. He comes up to me "Hey who sings this?" while still bouncing his head. I said Prince and he's like "NO!!! Really? Ur shittin me" A few more songs play... then $ and Lets Work play back to back. He yells "i just cant stop groovin" Then Controversy plays after a few other tracks. He actually starts mouthing the words "People call me rude i wish we all where nude" I yell "are u serious" and start laughing. "your a undercover prince fan" Judging from his face he didn't seem to like the fact that i said it so loud. Then the Icing on the cake was when LRC starting playing. I hear him say to another cook, "this song is classic" and yells to me "hey who sings this song again?" i yell "Prince" then he yells "Damn it!"

At the end of his shift he comes up to me and says "Man ur gonna make me go home and download his stuff now... nah I.." I stop him and say "stop being so closed minded... u like his music download his stuff ull like it" Then he says "Man don't tell anybody what i did today"

Anybody else have any interesting Prince stories from the workplace

so I was in class right working on a graphic design featuring the prince symbol blasting Purple Rain through my ipod ear buds, thought it fit the moment well lol, & it subsquently bled through my surroundings

The girl sitting next to me asks who I'm listening to curiously. When I incrediously respond Prince (for it always suprises when one doesn't know the P's staple song/my generation is KILLING me!), she looked perplexed.

She then seemed like she had an light bulb turned on in her head and opened her mouth, giggled, and retorted, "Prince? This Prince?" *started waving her hands in the air flamboyantly*
I smiled from cheek to cheek and responded, "that Prince wink"

1988, we were opening a new store selling records, books, cameras, radios, computers, you name it...It was a big store, we were about a hundred to prepare the store for the opening. One day, that guy took a radio and put the ATWIAD CD in it, apart from me, I didn't know nobody who was listening to that album.
21 years later, through mariages and kids, we are still friends !

I am a secretary and my colleagues have been teasing me for years about Prince, I have pictures all around my desk (makes it easier for IT dept to find me) and once the )2 concerts were announced I suddenly had people who had dissed P wanting to know how to get tickets and every single one of those people that went said they were superbly impressed - they never knew what a wonderful musician he was - made me so proud - I don't just support anyone you know only the best gets my support.

Once was driving to a customer with my boss and my MP3 player landed on 'Endorphinmachine' and he was pleasantly surprised when he found out it was Prince. He said he didn't know Prince could rock like that.

Which was nice.

That's a great story Arock! Prince's music helps make me more productive at my job. It can be so monotonous at times so when I get bored, I put some Prince on my iPod and I jam and work all at once. The day goes by quicker that way. nod
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
