Also... U all really think that if that was an impostor, that the site would still have it featured on their front page??

U don't think P would've found out by now, and had it removed?

Let's see if the Good Dr can clear THIS one up.

Stay tuned...

~G

Are you going to try and rip him up if he says it's not him like you've done in the past?

WHAT??!! What the Hell, Cam??

Gio777, You're cute and all but you need to get your aural memory tuned up because that idiot was NOT Prince.

I repeat, NOT. "Yes totally". NOT NOT NOT. giggle

For those of us who are unenlightened, why is the "Yes totally" thing "so" not something Prince would say?

Second, when in the interview does this person say: "Yes, totally" (as opposed to: "Yes... and, ah, I totally, totally agree and concur with that")?
[Edited 5/29/09 13:10pm]

Im enlightened and I also have ears. That was NOT Prince. Believe what you want. Amorbella was IN PRINCES HOUSE TALKING TO HIM so not only do my own ears tell me NO but so does she and she really would know. A voice is a voice unless your sick or its digitally manipulated.

And if he does, will you and your buddies come running along to defend J/Kathy's honour?

Wait, don't answer that.

Oh you don't? Awww that's too bad baby. You'll see what happens.

OK, I'm just gonna ask this once more...

Knowing Prince, do U think that he would let that front page continue 2 exist, if it were an impostor?

I don't think so.

Even if what U say is true about "Amorbella" being at Prince's house, talking 2 him, radio interviews R most often taped, then aired.

Believe it was him if you will. But it makes no sense what so ever to do an interview just to deny it was yourself. If not for publicity... what would have been the point.

This reminds me of how people swore up in down that the raw track to 'There'll Never Be Another..." wasn't Prince and came up with every reason to prove it wasn't..... yeah right.

It wssn't him.

Don't take this as a suggestion that it really was him... but if it were him, isn't it possible he didn't know the show was a scam, and that after the news broke today, he wanted to quickly disassociate himself with all of it so that it wouldn't appear he'd been duped?

No. He has pr people to check out that stuff. Theres no way a reputable PR person would put someone like Prince in that situation to get pranked.

I'm not talking about getting pranked by the interview, but by the show.

Let's say he's hanging out last night, and Jay says to him: hey, there's this cool benefit this weekend in SD. I'm going to be there. Would you have any interest? I'm going to be on the radio tomorrow as well, I'm sure they'd love to chat with you too."

Prince says, "sure, Jay." Prince wakes up, does an interview in his boxers from his hotel, and his people quickly figure out that this show is a scam.

If it HAD been Prince, he was clearly not pranked by the interview because the interviewers pretty clearly believed the benefit was real.

I cant imagine Prince's camp to be the most efficient to take down that stuff. If its on a fansite, yes (lol) if its somewhere else it takes more time as non fans arent readily agreeable to do stuff for the Mighty P.

As much as I dislike the Dr. Funkenberry outlet, he has always been on the money. It makes no sense PR wise. radio stations do stupid pranks all the time.

You weren't?

You said: "not only did the voice give it away, but when the guy said...
"yes, totally".....nope, no, never...not Prince".

It sounds like you're saying there were two things: the voice, and the fact that he said, "yes, totally."

I was just asking what specifically about "yes, totally" (though it was not actually said) was suspicious, since your post indicated it was a reason for additional suspicion beyond his voice.

...and also, no matter how good his PR people were in checking it out, many people got duped, and the same PR people would also be responsible 4 cleaning it up.

All I can say it this:

A) If it was an impostor, then that's just scary as hell.
B) Let's check the full interview tomorrow at 9AM PST. You'd think if it were fake, then they wouldn't air it in full tomorrow.

That DR.FB didn't have to tell me that wasn't Prince. lol

Just compare this fraudulent interview with the recording of Prince's phone call with Mojo from a Detroit radio station in 1986. Two totally different voices, from two totally different humans. LOL.

Whoa! I'm just saying that it sounds very much like Prince.

The only 2 words that don't sound like him R when he says, "call my name" (the word name doesn't sound like him), and "side", after "..macaroni & cheese on the side"... Also "exactly" doesn't sound like him.

I have been known to be wrong on occassions, and will admit it when I am. But for the fact that this "Prince" impersonator knew band member names, knew Tyka as Princes sister and a few other convincing things. This guy did his homework, and that's all I can say. I WANT IT BE BE HIM because I want to be right! So, I'm sticking to my guns! Or am I impersonating myself? wink
