After reading some of the comments about Prince's interview on Tavis, I noticed that some of you have come close to calling Prince an idiot. Some of you believe that Prince is only smart when it comes to his music and ignorant about every other aspect of his life. I'm sorry but Prince would not have gotten this far in hs life and career being a dummy. There have been a lot of talented musicians who hve fizzled out because thats all they knew. Why can't some of you just disagree with his views on religion and politics without attacking his intellect?

Prince does have some fucked up shit going on in his mellon. That isn't hate, it's just an observation.

when people listen to prince speak and then assume that he's an idiot, it's probably very similar to the way you read various posts here at the org and then assume that those people hate prince.

i think one difference between the two examples of people making assumptions is that someone posting at the org can talk back to you and say that they don't hate prince, while prince basically just says what he says. i don't think prince would try to argue with you or tell you that you're wrong about him.

Prince didnt climb to the top by himself, he's had a ton of help...mainly

In a lot of ways Prince clearly is, at best, seriously misguided, at worst, well, an idiot.

Usually you get a musical shield that tempers the idiocy, but occasionally, i.e. the Tavis program, The idiocy is on show for everyone to see. ....with no protection. It's like looking at the face of the sun!

TBH I find it funny; and reconcile this behaviour as being part and parcel with being a musical genius.

Genius' though-out the ages have all been whack-jobs.

Because "most" of the people on here need vindication for feeling and thinking the way they do; and they seek it through Prince. It's called idol worship, and it's the very thing that Prince himself has warned against.

Famous or not, Prince is just a man like half of us. He is entitled to the same rights and liberties as the rest of us. Sure, we spend our hard earned money to gain access to his art, but NO ONE is holding a gun to our head when we do. Yes, we are entitled to your opinion, but most on here (and elsewhere) are incapable of exchanging productive dialogue, as well as the kind of constructive criticism that P. himself spoke of on Tavis' show.

So what you end up getting are pseudo-intellectuals who try and justify their opinion with a pitiful attempt at sounding profound. Of course this doesn’t apply to everyone… But it does apply to many; and they know who they are.
