Why can't some of you just disagree with his views on religion and politics without attacking his intellect?
The problem is Prince is a musical genius who does not take drugs, works hard at his craft and IS intelligent. A combination of all these things is very difficult for the haterz to swallow. They have to pull him down to in some way to make themselves superior, hence the hate and unnecessary bashing. It really is that simple, Prince intimidates them. They cannot comment on his music without calling him names. They have to verbally attack his physical characteristics. They have to find fault in everything he says or does. I don't think it's always about hate Some of it is I for one don't care (having read interviews and watched him interview) to really hear anything outside of his ideas on songs and albums He's had a few good ones around the ATWIAD/Parade era interviews I'm one that says "let your music speak 4 U" I've heard him give little speaches during performances in the last 4-5 years and it just seems ackward. Even during the Indigo Nights when he talked about "being just like the rest of us, and remember when our mothers had us go to the store..." It was like he was trying to hard. He even inserted a little speach during Anne Stesia that just threw the song off and that was my favorite part the chant"God is Love, Love is God Girls & Boys..." the song was deep enough I think Tavis questions at times went in a direction that promted Prince to say some of the things some didn't care 2 hear. He is an entertainer and an artist/musician. Not a Black political leader or advocate. I think Tavis missed out on more questions about songs, tours, instruments, band/musicians associates, style etc etc [Edited 5/5/09 18:23pm] | |
