I have to disagree. I'm in love with the song BETTER WITH TIME. I think it's very sweet.

Its sweet, but not baby making music.

I think Future Baby Mama was great....Call My name is cool...The Dance was good too.

Mplsound didnt really have any...Here was ok but it wasnt catchy or too memorable.

After hearing Adonis & Batsheba I fell head over heels again...I knew there was a good slow jam out there...I want to hear this one released. The melodies and his voice is so beutiful on this track.

You are right about one thing PP4, there aren't any baby making songs on Lotus or MPLS but is that a bad thing? I can't speak for y'all but I don't need a "Do Me Baby" or "Adore" or "Shhh" on every CD he releases. I actually wanna see him do a ballad-free CD one day. The ballads on both CD's are cool. They aren't heavy and I don't think they needed to be. They were what they were and we either enjoyed them or we didn't. Doesn't mean they weren't any more or less heartfelt. That's just my twocents

And you exactly right. And he doesnt have a slow jam on every cd either..it usually comes maybe once or twice on a three album span.

Exactly. Who knows what the next CD will bring, but I'm getting too far ahead of myself with that. lol

man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

Prince's last solid slow song was "last december"... it was a heartfelt song with emotion to it.. overall his last solid group of ballads were on "emancipation."the love we make,"soul santuary, "the holy river" and so on... I feel the ballads on MPLSOUND brings that work down a beg.It really is a telling sign because i used to look forward to his slower numbers. Prince's ballads started losing steam around 1989... but he still had respectable ones up until 2001... "better with time' is boring, "ur gonna c me" is nice but doesn't hit your gut like "empty room or "she gave her angels".. what do ya'll think?

the dance from "3121" is essential----- and emotional---

I'd agree with that.

Reflection was sweet, but nothing special. Most of the slow jams from Musicology, 3121 and PE were fairly pedestrian.

Rave was full of great, heartfelt, gut-wrenching ballads. You can literally hear his pain on songs like ILYBIDTUA and Man O War.

do we really need more songs such as "4ever,"wherever u go whatever u do... songs such as those are 2 simplistic 4 my taste

I've read quite a few posts dismissing 4ever's lyrics as being simplistic and predictable. To a certain extent that's true, however, the thing that makes that song interesting for me, is that Prince is dealing with the prospect of living alone forever as much as wanting to be in love forever.

Now, this is subject matter Prince has covered numerous times, but all of them (past songs) have a sense of hope, while 4ever acknowledges, maybe for the first time, that in all likelyhood he will not find love again.

Simplistic, yes, but also profound & a little sad.

I think this is a perfect example of how it's really all about personal perception.

I'd agree with ILYBIDTUA but think Man O' War is cookie cutter, think The One is heartfelt but Call My Name derivative. I think 4Ever is nothing more than "Prince generic balled #4,361", too, but do think there is something different with the ballads on MPLSoUND. U're Gonna C Me and Here seem delicate but there is something fiery there, too. Here, in particular, seems heartfelt but unusually subtle for Prince. Better With Time hasn't hit me, though.
