No. The site is not fake. If it was fake, Prince would have already had lawyers shut it down. The sign up for updates deal likely means we will be getting updates when the site goes live. The ticket, likely means the site (and music) is going live on the 31st, nothing more. This is not definate, this is just my guess/assumption. -you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude! |

The least Prince could do at this point is to at least have all the songs he's previewed available to listen to in the media player
Or better yet give us a sneak peek at a few more tracks!!! 
As others have said P is great at building suspense but also does to good of a job killing the excitement by doing nothing to keep the excitement going... The greatest live performer of our times was is and always will be Prince.

...and after saying that, I'll just add that I haven't been listening 2 any of the new material 4 about a week now. I highly suggest this 2 all of U. Just STOP and wait. There will obviously be much more in these 2 bodies of material ('Lotusflow3r' and the tentatively titled 'MPLSound') than what we've heard, so erase everything, set your mind 2 its' default mode, and get ready 2 listen.
If it doesn't please me, I'll say what I think... after about 17 listens. If it does, then I'll praise the way I always do... based on the musicality, the quality of the recording/mastering, the songs, and the voice. Most of U here know that I praised 'Planet Earth', and many of U didn't like that album. Other than the fact that the album was a bit short, and the inclusion of "Mr. Goodnight", it was a substantial, strong Prince album. The title track blows ANY opus/rock opera that he's done, INCLUDING "Purple Rain". That along with "Chelsea Rodgers" (Where he plays Drums, Bass, and Guitar in a funk vein he's never done before), "All The Midnights in the World", and "Lion of Judah", "Resolution" should be enough. Simply (AND well) recorded, great instrumentation and songs, plus using singing voices he hasn't used in YEARS. Even "Guitar" and "The 1 U Wanna C" get honorable mention. So I'm just saying 2 relax, give up all expectations, forget about what you've heard, and stop listening. Then we can light up this board, and watch it erupt. Just sayin'.
