Actually it could very well be a metaphorical way to say the site goes live (hence Prince's new galaxy) on that date... The more I think of it, the more it seems possible.

Doubt if it's a concert - very vague and what's to stop non US fans submitting to a concert they obviously couldn't get to.

Surely it's the opening of the new web site and $77 is membership fee.

it does seem to quick to be for a concert but I do hope I'm wrong beg

here's a wish that P do what Morrisey (7 shows) and the Smashing Pumpkins (2 or 3 shows) among others have done recently in Los Angeles.

if He has a series of gigs then he sells them all in one Shot.

Wouldn't that be great? Say 7 shows for $700 inclding the fees.

now that the club Nokia and the Conga Room are open, those would be the perfect places for the after shows.

also sports fans, i went to the Nokia theatre in september and went up to the Bob "Ueker" seats and i'd sit there without reservation if it came to that.

What is worrying is how unprofessional the work is done.

Let me explain :
1) The LF current homepage has no doctype. Should be at least in xhtml 1.0

2) The css (cascading style sheet) is within the page while it should be all in a .css file.

3) They use attributes within the body tag they should not use anymore such as leftmargin rightmargin etc. Should all be in css.

4) They apparently use two different servers as I can display the error that occurs with Chrome and FF and it is typical of a flash object (swf) within a html page trying to load stuff that are not on the same server. I bet the mp3s are not anymore hosted on the same server as the LF's one. That's why it is not working anymore. It is in an audio folder but somewhere else.
Problem is they need to use a cross-domain.xml file to avoid this security issue. It often happens with flash beginners who use RSS feeds.

The error message is :
Error #2044: securityError non pris en charge : text=Error #2048: Sandbox security violation

5) Just for the little story : they even use a center tag to center a heading H1. God we used to do that back in 96-98 !

And I could carry on and on. I mean it is just one page and they still managed to make so many mistakes that I can hardly believe these guys are real professionals.

Don't mean to be agressive towards these people but I'm a developer myself and I know my shit.

I still use he center tag boxed
I'm not being to judgmental yet. For all we know this could just be a quickly put together placeholder until the 'actual' site is published live. And we are only 'assuming' the 'professional' nature or the level of expertise of the site designers.

Some developers are simply more up to current standards than others.... and many just have thier own preferences about how to make things work.

And blacknight noticed that the page's music will load in Firefox if you drop the 'WWW' portion of the URL. I'm going to assume all those who saw no problems were using lotusflow3r.com instead of www.lotusflow3r.com... which has kept the audio from loading in the non internet exploer browsers.

Apparently they are doing 'something' which is effecting their server.

Yes, the elimination of "www." does load the songs.

Hmmm...

Should only be one more day, but we'll see...

The flash site does seem like a placeholder, and I say this not based on the design, but the implementation.

Yep.

A simple zone check on www.lotusflow3r.com shows a fatal failure.

Lotusflow3r.com (without www.) passes the test hands down.

Basically this domain name (with the www) is not configured properly !

That's why the flash object in FF & Chrome does not load the mp3s. the domain name not being configured properly, the audio files are considered as being on a different server.

If you load the swf directly in the browser , it works fine as well.

ps : by the way mate, center is deprecated and should not be used anymore. For h1 tag for instance, set a class for it, a width then use a margin-right : auto and margin-left : auto. there are other ways to achieve that. Peace. wink

It is based mostly on the 20 star lights as a possible date within January.

Here's 2 hoping!

You are so right. I use Firefox, and if I type in www.lotusflow3r.com (with the www.)it will come up, but the songs will not load, it will just say "loading" and never load.

If I type in just lotusflow3r.com it will load automatically with the songs playing. I'm not a computer techy, but someone needs to tell Prince's peeps to fix it so that the songs will play as well, when you use the "www" in the browser. It was working fine with it earlier last week.

It's either tomorrow or next Tuesday if he wants to meet the 'before the end of January' deadline. Since new music tends to come out on Tuesday.

Though, I think if Prince actually launches an album tomorrow or even the next week, with no prior notice to ANYONE when it's coming out, then he's asking to not be on the charts.

Which, wouldn't bother me a bit and would put some people's opinions that Prince is obsessed with being at the top of the Billboard to rest. We'll see.
I wanna be loved to the 9s, so let me cover your ass with this sheet, and baby, you better stay on the beat! Cause you know the Karma Sutra? I can rewrite it. But, with half as many words.

I really don't think he's at all bothered about being on the charts. He just wants to get his music out and heard. Of course, if he releases it without any notice to anyone, then not many outside the hardcore will hear it. At least in the first week or two.

Has anyone mentioned this? It just hit me looking at the site:

A New Galaxy Awaits January 20 09

I've heard the 20th thrown around for other reasons, but that just caught my eye tonight.
Studies have shown the ass crack of the average Prince fan to be abnormally large. This explains the ease and frequency of their panties bunching up in it.
