DOES HE DESERVE US AS FANS?

That a question that i sometimes ask myself about prince, does he deserve us as fans? Given all of the treatment he's dished out over the last few years like what he did to the Org.,his lame music he releases nowadays, him closing down other Prince sites, him sending out his Lawyers( BloodHounds) to search and destroy, him not touring the U.S. and much more. What do you feel.

But I'm still going to obtain his music when it's released.

Haha. He doesn't deserve any of us. He, just like any other artist got lucky to make music that got and jept people's interests.

But I'm glad he caught my interest.

From my perspective, if all he does is clamp down on people sharing his songs for free, I don't have any issue with that. I pay for all my Prince tracks legitimately. I could care less about the guy going after people on YouTube.

Hey, this is a business transaction. We've paid money for services rendered, e.g. concerts, music videos, etc. He played we paid. Exchange is not robbery. Any deeper expectation from this relationship is fetish.

I don't really like the word Fan - short for fanatical and I don't believe I am. I prefer to describe myself as an admirer, I admire his music and the way he conducts himself as a person.

Maybe we all get the fans we deserve ? I think really we all want too much and as he has given us so much in the past we expect so much more from him than any other performer. I also think we have to remember he is only human and its impossible to please all the people all the time, so a little understanding might be in order. Keep things in prospective I say.

Prince.org is a cemetery where folks mourn Prince instead of celebrate him and his music. Last time I checked, Prince isn't dead yet.

My opinion is that although he is generally a jerk, he puts out the best music that there is. We all have the option whether or not to support him, and we all do because we love his stuff so much.

he is an artist. if you don't like his work, don't buy it (and don't listen to all the free stuff either), and find another. or strap on a guitar yourself and get funky.

i don't know if, at this point, he even wants "fams".

i think at this stage in the game, he wants loyal customers.

i really sometimes suspect that's how prince wants his fans/fams/etc. to appreciate his music these days.

Prince has been pissing me off for years, not just the last couple of years. When he went through that shit with WB and his masters, it looks like he took it out on all his fans. I still love him though, I think he's a bit paranoid. And no, he doesn't deserve us ORGERS as fans, but who else out there has the talent and creativity he has?
