Opening your mind to P's non-80s output

You know the fans... the ones that say his last truly brilliant album came out in the '80s and "he's never been the same since" and whatnot... blah blah blah. Well, first off, I'm not bashing those fans, cuz 1) They're entitled to that opinion, and 2) I used to be one of them.

I used to be one of those peeps that listened to a lot of what came after SOTT with a closed mind (and to be honest, at the time, I hadn't even heard close to HALF of allll that came afterwards, so basically, I was just being very young and ignorant, as well as rattling off a bunch of semi-"bandwagon" and Alex Hahn Possessed-inspired opinions disingenuinely just to see what others had to say, since I'm always interested in other people's point-of-view). Not anymore, because even if I still PERSONALLY think that Prince hasn't cranked out a masterpiece since Lovesexy (which, by the way, was a grower for me... now I consider it in my Top 5, if not Top 3), "Who cares?" is what I say. Prince is Prince is Prince. He doesn't have anything really to prove to me, and there's gems on just about all of his works. I just love the man period, so to hell with setting any kind of bar or standard. Every artist has their peak, and even if I believe his ended many years ago, it doesn't matter, because chances are, I enjoy SOMETHING (usually a substantial enough amount, anyway) off of any of his post-Lovesexy records. He's created many solid albums since then, and a shitload of awesome songs, so it's whatever, y'know?

Who's with me?

Agreed
he´s brilliant, weird, fascinating and more, today as of always.
P. is the only star (okay, apart from Bob Dylan) that I´ve ever felt grateful to. He is.

small circles, big wheels!
I've got a pretty firm grip on the obvious!
