Never thought I'd be writing a post like this, but for the first time EVER, based on these descriptions of the song (and having heard it on Leno), I'm just not that interested and feel like I'll just hear it when I hear it. I used to hunt down new P tunes like Winehouse hunts a crack rock, but those days seem to be over.  |

A nice little old school jam. Just Prince having fun. Definitely not classic and he certainly lacks the creativity of old, but one thing you can't say is that he don't do rude no more.. some of these lyrics.. damn  "London, i've adopted a name that has no pronounciation.... is that cool with you?"

Pleasant enough little off-the-shelf three-chord workout, but it's typical 'uninspired Prince', musically and lyrically. He just doesn't seem to have much to say when he gets in the studio at the moment, which is a shame because on stage he's still phenomenal - his stature as a live performer is solid as ever after the London gigs.

I heard the song but sadly I am not impressed with it as I thought I would be. The composition is not in true Prince style, its more like an Elvis remake to me.
The words are disappointing too, not a very nice message, not very thought provoking. I have not heard it again so it may have been an illegal leak of his material he never intended to release on the airwaves. I hope that is the case, and we will soon have a new album filled with great musicianship and innovative ideas and thoughful lyrics with heart. Peace and love | |
