PrintableI'm not dismissing anyone's points here, they all seem to be valid points, even logical, but sometimes as I have done earlier in the thread is jump to the wrong conclusion based on what the first thought that came to my mind was and the obvious "Prince and Birthday Party" in the same location. But isn't there always another side to the story?
Well, let's see, my point basically is, (I've been thinking this over) that I'm giving the benefit of the doubt because no one knows exactly what went on there. Since the Grammy's are coming up, (and seeing the situation that when he arrived, he went straight up to the 2nd floor - bypassing the party; and well after the party started and Mariah had enough time to enjoy herself) maybe then he and Mariah had a practice session to do and they had to get started right away. Or, they are working on another project. Maybe this guy (whoever he is) has a studio in his home on the second floor. So Prince wasn't associating himself with the party at all, although he was in the same house at the time a party was going on...nothing wrong with that. But, in our minds, what we saw from first impression was that he was 'at' a b/d party. | |

Maybe he got there and realizing it was a birthday party he went up to another area where the festivities were not taking place. As another poster mentioned, maybe he really needed to see someone there. The fact he purposely went out of his way to not mingle shows he was not there in support of a birthday. Being in the same building where a bd party is not in itself wrong. I know many a JW's that gladly accept and eat left over birthday cake if a workmate brings it to work the next day. Some may not do it. It's not part of the celebration. It's up to someone's conscience. there's just so many things we don't know the details too, being rude about his beliefs without knowing all the details is really lowclass. Yes, this is considered a conscience matter. Also, when my grandmother passed away, there was a big disagreement over where the services were to be held. My mom's aunties wanted it in a Catholic church (because they were catholic, but we felt the most neutral place would be in a funeral home, long story short, it was in the church. My mom, sisters and myself were uncomfortable to go to the church but decided that we would go, although when the catholic services started we went outside. Not to be disrespectful, but because our conscience wouldn't allow us to stay but when the prayers and services stopped, we were okay with going back inside. There are no 'laws' set in the bible that says how exactly we are to handle the situation, but from what we learned, it was enough to help us make a decision and what our conscience would allow. | |

That's what he did. Whatever the circumstances were, and whether or not he actually "celebrated," only he knows. I'm not sure why there's such a big deal being made out of this, or why people are jumping to conclusions, but the bottom line is: if he's a Witness still. OK. If he's not. OK. Two pages have been devoted to speculation. Either it is what it is, or it ain't what it is. Got it? Hmmm maybe not.

No photos. Just some1 who says they were told that he was there. 2nd hand. As I put at the start of the thread, not sure if it was noteworthy, just a report of him being somewhere. Surprised it made it 2 the front page of the org and all this talk of him and his religious beliefs when there was no photo in sight he was there.
