About time Prince started getting some well-desrved propers.

It's a great song, but not really sure if it's props! It's saying it's almost at the top for a MISERY-inducing Christmas song.

Bummer.

8. Prince, ''Another Lonely Christmas''
Not only is his girlfriend gone, not only is she dead, but she died...on December 25! (Of pneumonia, or strep — he's not sure.) Of course, this being a Prince song, there's a verse devoted to fondly remembering her naked. cool

Despite all his recent BS legal manuevers -- Cool!

But my question...when is "She's Always In My Hair" ever going to get it's due props... Man, that song still kicks my pineal gland into straight Kool juice mode...

Yeah, fair enough, this one of his worst records. It rates somewhere between 'Ronnie Talk To Russia' and 'Graffiti Bridge' for me!!

At least it raises some of his other tracks to inter-galactic levels in comparison.

It is OK not to like some of his songs you know... razz

I think Riverpoet was talkin' about "She's Always In My Hair," not "Another Lonely Christmas."

No, i really mean: Another Lonely Christmas.

Its not in the guitarwork, but in the vocal delivery of Prince. His phrasing and timing sound like a pastiche of Hendrix' vocal style.

This song so much saved my life back around 1975. I was a lonely, I supposed depressed child. Listening to the beautiful song and thinking I wasn't alone in my sadness, and it pulled me out of my slump, perhaps saved my life. Prince has made great contributions to my life, this song being one of them.

I'm surprised Pepe Willie hasn't released it on one of his 'prince early 70's recording' albums...

One of my faves. I always start playing it the Wednesday before Thanksgiving while were cookin' the turkey and sippin' on egg nog. I always pretend the egg nog is a banana daquirie (sp?). In memory of the song, I even bang my wife with the lights on. Hahahaha. Anywayz, question about the song: at the end of the last chorus when he's singing, "you are the only one I care for," and then he screams something before heading into that AWESOME guitar/piano closer, what is he screaming??? I couldn't tell if it was "I GOT TO COCK IT TO YOUUU!" or something else.

Naw. I don't think he's screaming any actual words. I think he's just "scattin'" his famous scream. But "I got to cock it to youuu!" is still pretty fuckin' funny!! biggrin
