You're right...to hell in a handbasket.

Greenday was dreadful. And the Christina tribute to JB was very inappropriate.

Amen to that! Heck, I would take MJ as #1 over Greenday ANY day (and I'm not even an MJ fan). But at least MJ has some talent to offer, whereas Greenday has NONE.

Eye fully agree with u about Beyonce being a mike hog!!! Finally some1 had the finesse 2 write it down! Thank u SexyBeautifulOne. But about Prince's "current crap" eye don't understand how that per4mance could have led 2 anything as such!

Finally? People have been saying that since it happened.

And it was stupid to share a mic anyway.

u like changing lyrics don't u? hehehe

btw that whole show was a sham! it seemed like they only voted on per4mances from the past 10 years and that's it. come on that segment with manhattan transfers and ella fitzgerald was better than even prince's wack ass per4mance with beyonce.

and an insult 2 feature a brief clip of the 85 grammy's and not show that one instead disbelief
man, he has such an amazing body of music that it's sad to see him constrict it down to the basics. he's too talented for the lineup he's doing. estelle 81

How on any planet can you have only ONE artist LIP SYNC on their top 25 performances and also rank that LIP SYNCED Performance #6 on your list of 25?????

How in the Hell did Michael Jackson make this list when he lip synced? It is the direct vocal track from the BAD Album.

The Grammys is supposed to be the biggest and best of music. You put a FAKE/Pretend Signer on the list of Top 25 Performances.

It was Lip Synced. No one is falling for the Epic/Sony/ Michael Jackson hype of lies anymore... Lip Syncing directly from the album isnt amazing! It wasnt amazing when he did the same exact thing for Motown 25 either.

Pretending to Sing isn't amazing.... and when his was turned on for the last 20 seconds or so of the song - his voice sounded awful. His voice was out of key. Which tells EVERYONE why he lip synced this Grammy Performance & that Motown 25 Performance.

Michael always lip syncs you can tell because all his performances sound just like the vocal track.

janet does the same thing ..must run in the family

The Prince was better than I remembered.

I also remember being moved by Melissa Ethridge, even though I never liked her. It was a nice moment.

RHCP & PFunk was great, too.

Green Day was pretty meh, but I like the album a lot.

Dude, no.

Going "aaAAAAAHHHHH" for 6 seconds while the microphone is like "WTF helppp!" does not count as singing. She screamed and shouted her way through and ruined that song.

I can only imagine what it's gonna be like when she gives birth in a few months. err

Their picks seem really weighed for recent performance. Almost all of them were from the last 10 years.

Obviously Green Day couldn't have been the best (it's simply impossible), but the reason it struck a chord for people was that in what is maybe the most superficial time for pop music, and a very fucked up time for the world, an averagely talented pseudo-punk pop band decided to make an album that was actually about something. Imagine that!

Add to that the fact that they're making music the old fashioned way, and it's practically a revelation for some listeners.

But for recent rock, I would choose the White Stripes doing 7 Nation Army over Green Day without any doubt, and that wouldn't be #1 either!

right.....so after about 10 min of dancing ur hard working ass off (and doing it well!) ur voice would come out perfect and in tune 2?

right.....not trying to hijack this thread, but mike's been singing since 1967. he deserves 2 take a frickin break. not only that, its pretty obvious he lip syncs...but the list is of MEMORABLE moments. the way he gave his all in those short 10 min. is why he made the countdown.

and ps.....WHEN THE HELL DID GREEN DAY PERFORM ON THE GRAMMYS?!? seriously.....
How will we fill our empty room?

I didn't mind it. Usher's a great dancer even if he isn't that talented or too overexposed. Mix that with the one and only Mr Brown and you have a great, enjoyable performance on your hands.

This is why I can't stand all the "todays music" hate on the org. Most of you can't sit through ANYTHING with a star from today in it, even if it's enjoyable. Just relax! I betcha if Prince wasn't in this Grammy performance and it was Beyonce on her own every second person here would be hating on it.
