The Top 5 sucked.

P & Bey had great chemistry...they should've been in the Top 5 too.

Definitely!! Makes me wonder if the votes were rigged or something. I can't understand why or how Green Day could beat out Prince, and even Michael Jackson. It makes no damn sense, because their music sounds like crap.

I'm wondering the same thing.

that outfit from 85' is smokin' the green/blue thing was workin' nod

Umm, P didn't wear that on The Grammy's. He wore that at the American Music Awards when he played Purple Rain. At the Grammy's, he wore an all white outfit.

Most folks on here are going to favor P with beyonce cuz they've never even seen P's performance from 85. It's like saying that a black and white t.v. is better than a color t.v.

Beyonce thought she was doing Prince a favor and Prince was only trying to come back so he could get himself back on top long enough to pull his current crap!!

Well...that's what happened!

One of the reasons people hate this performance so much is that Beyonce easily outshines Prince. Also his mike seemed turned down a bit [not his fault] You can't even hear him screaming at the end.

Beyonce got the party started and breathed life into the songs. She was energetic and out there - whereas Prince seemed a bit resevered.

Put it this way - no one remembered Prince the next morning.

The entire room deservedly gave her a standing ovation.

She should have been #1 and Prince/Beyonce should have been #2.

The Prince and Bey combination is hard to beat. Only witness could do it.

Green Day as #1 is LAUGHABLE.

And I'm sure even Christina would admit she should not be number 3.

How on any planet can you have only ONE artist LIP SYNC on their top 25 performances and also rank that LIP SYNCED Performance #6 on your list of 25?????

How in the Hell did Michael Jackson make this list when he lip synced? It is the direct vocal track from the BAD Album.

The Grammys is supposed to be the biggest and best of music. You put a FAKE/Pretend Signer on the list of Top 25 Performances.

It was Lip Synced. No one is falling for the Epic/Sony/ Michael Jackson hype of lies anymore... Lip Syncing directly from the album isnt amazing! It wasnt amazing when he did the same exact thing for Motown 25 either.

Pretending to Sing isn't amazing.... and when his was turned on for the last 20 seconds or so of the song - his voice sounded awful. His voice was out of key. Which tells EVERYONE why he lip synced this Grammy Performance & that Motown 25 Performance.

What are you talking about? The last several minutes of the song he is singing live, and his singing sounds fantastic.

Post-1995 yes.

But on the Destiny, Triumph, Victory, Bad, and most of the Dangerous tours, he always sang live except for the last two songs on the last two concerts of the Bad tour, and a couple of songs on the Dangerous tour.

I remembered him the next morning and so did a lot of people. He got a lot of press off of that performance and went on to do a kick ass tour.

Funny how people forget things.

I really wish they'd shown the whole clip 'cuz I remember that night so well.

I was channel surfing and didn't even realize the Grammys was on, much less who was performing so it caught me totally by surprise.

At that point, life was so hectic that I wasn't keeping up with much of what Prince had been doing for few years and suddenly there he was coming down those stairs.

It felt like I had been struck by lightning! lol I jumped straight up out of my seat and screamed and cried for all I was worth...people probably thought I was being attacked or something... eek

I dunno, I was just so darn happy to see him alive and well...everything about why I love the guy just came rushing back all at once. I still can't believe how I reacted...it was a trip!
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.
