If Squirrel Meat's nasty comment about Americans had not been made, then I would not have found it necessary to respond as I did. There have been many times when I have seen a thread go way off topic, and nothing was ever said to the offending party. I don't understand why I'm being told to discuss this is the "Concert" forum, when I'm responding to what someone posted in this thread, in the "Prince: Music and More" forum. It makes no sense whatsoever.

Anyone who lives in the US should really just buy it from Canadian Amazon.ca:

For non UK residents, you should try airports.

OK, now I'm PISSED, what is going on with all the freebies in the UK? What about AMERICA? Chi Town atleast! Last yr when I lived in Vegas, nothing like this was even imagined, I feel cheated. It's very possible that I made this man very rich within the last 23 yrs buying his shit! (multiple copies due to age & just plain losin'em). When will I receive something free (from him). My mother was on welfare but she made sure that I was happy, buying Prince albums, tapes, CDs, movies & videos. Now that I'm grown (and times R hard), I'm still puttin' loot in this cats pockets & he's in the freakin' UK given away shit, BABY BYE! |

Someone remind me of the rights issue regarding the Sign of the Times movie.
As I remember it, Prince does not actually own that movie, or at least not in some territories, making it possible for "unauthorized-by-Prince" units to hit retail. At least I'm pretty sure that if a UK paper wanted to give away a Sign of the Times DVD, they could do so without involving Prince in that decision. Blimey, every1 needs 2 chill out about it not being fair the UK gets this & that.
It's childish. & the poster who said she made him rich & talks about welfare... There are plenty in UK who have done the same & I'm sure plenty in Timbuktu but I'm not sure when they last had a free Prince DVD promotion either. It is what it is. Prince doesn't owe any of us anything. The newspapers in the UK are deciding to make their money through Prince's artistic output right now.
