i'm not expecting anything interesting to his retail outlets
in the next 2 years or so.

my main hopes are directed toward 3121.com and the chance he
might open up another music download section.

perhaps his next album will be another internet only release
or at least a dozen of occasional tunes.

he should explore that avenue some more, it was nice.

Hopefully something risque, but risque and classy. Something funky...I wasn't around for some of his funkiest stuff, so hooking the later generation up would be sweet smile but who knows, he's a real man of mystery.

'Something with flutes'

It's in Prince's interview with 'Giant Magazine'.

Flutes remind me too much of 'pan-pipes'.

I'd like a straight-up, old school Funk album where Prince didn't give a damn about the charts. Organic jams with Maceo Parker.

well there's a flute running all the way through Get Off
so i guess flutes doesn't mean it will be non funk music

cool

I think it would be a great project to open up the vault and let some of the hottest producers around at the moment (Mark Ronson, Timbaland, Pharrell) do their version of some unreleased tracks.

no please no! just open up the vault and allow some of that huge
amount of material to seep through the cracks.

release them online or better yet, have people order copies from
his website. actual cd's.

Whatever he does, I really hope he takes his time and considers the meaning in what he does. I dont want another set of poor unfinished demos (like on PE), but then the overcomplicated, overarranged 3121 and Musicology was too much to bear as well. He needs to get rid of those classical mids and ends that he infuses into much of his sound.

Most of all, I really hope he has a deep think about his lyrics. I want him to be a respected writer because I know he is capable of something deep. His religious writings of the past were OK, because they were about interpersonal battles, now its all preachy and stupid. He needs to smarten up, he should stop telling us how to do stuff and start telling us stories like he used to in the past.

The perfect new album for me, would be a simple story going through it, a concept and a theme that has nothing to do about war, nothing to do with JW. I would like him to be himself, be playful and experimental, yet also be deep and personable. Get back in touch with his faithful fans.

I'd take all 3 of the most recent albums ahead of The Black Album anyday. I'm past the point of getting mad when Prince chooses to go in a direction that I wouldn't choose for him. It's his career after all!

what's so wrong with that, really? all those songs are circulating
in really crappy quality and for more than 20 years people want to
hear them in clean cd quality.

if he hates people talking about all that stuff why not just say:
"ok, here's another crystal ball with all the well known stuff on
it. have a nice day and don't bother me about old stuff anymore".

Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

Well, I'd hope that we would get 2 hear the other 20 songs that were recorded, that didn't make the final album configuration, but we'll not likely hear those...

I haven't heard them, but was told that a few of them were really Funky.

There were a couple of titles I heard, but I cannot mention them.

Sorry, but I think it's the most overrated album in his catalogue.

I'm sure his next project will be something Strange & Off-The-Wall, completely unconcerned with radio play or general acceptance, since his pockets are already nicely lined. He'll indulge himself with whatever mood he's in at the time, and it will be well done. People will be fighting to be the first to get their hands on it, while calling it garbage at the same time, complaining that it doesn't sound like Prince from The 1980's.

Honestly, even though I'd like a "wow, OMG" album, it doesn't matter to me as much as seeing him frequently release music now.

It would be SOOOOO nice for 3121 to start offering jems from the vault, etc.

Prince confessed as recently as the Musicology interview that he's "always making new music" so it would be nice to hear some of it.
