Seriously...I like Planet Earth...but I believe this album is where Prince ´borrowed´ the most from other artists. On ´Guitar´ it´s more explicit (u2, Beatles). That Barry Manilow part on ´PE´ should be credited. The bass line of ´Chelsea´ is not directly copied from Daft Punk, but it really sounds like it was inspired by them. I wonder where coincidences happened or where it was on purpose.

Seriouly, I doubt that the generic disco bassline and beat which was electronically copied by Daft Punk 20 or so years after disco was actually an influence on Prince's retro disco song. You can hear the same musical use of that type of bassline and beat in "Miss You" by the Rolling Stones, to name one in million. I bet if I dug up some of those old disco era bootleg songs by Prince, you'd find that same style disco beat on at least one of those leaked studio tracks.

I do not post that often as you can see, but cheese and rice you weird a&* people have to get a freaking life outside of P. Hell yeah I like his music and appreciatae whatever he puts out, but at least he is putting out great music, be it great by your expectaions post or pre 1980's, get on with your freaking lives!!!!! I suppose if you wanted him to continue to do what he did in the 80's or 70's he would still be selling out tiny little Farm Fairs, kind of like the Bengales are playing in CA this week!!!!

one more thing, name about 10 other arists in the music industry that has not copied/sampled another artist in their respective days!!!!!

It is about coming full cirlce and learning from past/present artists, why hate on that, if someone can make the same sound a little better what the Hell is the harm???? If you yourself play music be it guitar/piano/flute/ etc I'm sure you had to practice some other artist's sheet music!!! So why hate or put P down for it??? So freaking Lame, Now I'm pissed that I wrote all of this because it was not worth it, but have to do what the heart and brain directs me to a degree!!!! good luck finding other artist that intriques you as much,,,,, very few to compare to when it comes to the P man!
