Interpretation of the song “7”

I know this that I am about to post will surely raise some eyebrows and I amy lose some “friends” and then again I may gain some more…….but that is exactly what this song talks about in a certain area and that is “persecution”……so sit back and enjoy or not enjoy my interpretation of this GREAT Prince song ……..I say that because being the Christian that I am I believe this song has a very strong religious image……..and if you all sit tight I will explain myself the best I can …….

All 7 and well watch them fall
They stand in the way of love
And we will smoke them all
With an intellect and a savoir-faire
No one in the whole universe
Will ever compare
I am yours now and u are mine
And together well love through
All space and time, so dont cry
One day all 7 will die

This is just a verse about “bearing” all the world will go through in the “end times” together with your loved one……and the number “7” here actually represents numerous religious sgnsof the “end times” the “seven Plagues” “seven churches” “seven seals” “seven trumpets or seven angels” that will hit this earth in the “Revelation” or “end times”……..

And we will see a plague and a river of blood
And every evil soul will surely die in spite of
Their 7 tears, but do not fear
4 in the distance, 12 souls from now
U and me will still be here - we will still be here
There will be a new city with streets of gold
The young so educated they never grow old
And a, there will be no death 4 with every breath
The voice of many colors sings a song
Thats so bold
Sing it while we watch them fall

This is just one of the “seven plagues” and that is that the 2nd trumpet will sound sending the 2nd angel will down to turn 1/3 of the sea to blodd killing 1/3 o the animals of the sea and destroying 1/3 of all ships in the waters/……the part about the 12 soulds from now refers to the number of “Christians” to be with the Lord after everythign takes place……the number according to the Bible is 144,000 but if you take 12 and times it by 12 it equals 144……..and the new city with streets of gold of course is Heaven……and of course since you don’t age and you never die……..the young would be very educated and would never grow old ……..and if you are saved and you are with the Lord after this time you will definetely be singing while Satan rules over the world and the “7” continue to fall 


Like I said this may raise some eyebrows and could not be understanding by many but if someone has another interpretation I would love to hear it as well and would be wiling to accept your interpretation as well…….I understand this may not make sense to some of ya but I tried my BEST to make it as understanding as possible……but if any of you have read and or study / studied the Bible you would know it is not ALWAYS easy to explain…….. 

In this verse Prince is talking about how Christians will be persecuted and be asked to “deny” jesus in the “end times” and as he awaits the other 6 plagues he says that is alright because he will not deny Jesus and watch the other plagues fall 

Future Baby Mama is about the female org'er (like we posted here) whose bad enough to be Prince's 3rd wife. When he says I heard it said my lovers look like you, he was lurking here on the org and read the thread where we talked about how he has a "type". That was the inspiration for the song, so when he says, "maybe i've been looking for you", he was referring to the all the female org'ers he knows adores him and would love the chance to be a Future Baby Mama. So, he's telling you what you need to do to GET and KEEP him. Be prepared to "bend but don't break" in the midst of all that goes with being a "Prince girl." So there.

Okay, let me take a stab at this:

I think that Somewhere Here On Earth is about the fact that Prince relates to his fans more than we think he does. He mentions in the song about this digital age and connecting with him. Deep down he knows that we love and care for him. On a deeper level-us fans all want him to settle down with someone who loves him and just be happy, but maybe, just maybe he's telling us that he already knows how we feel about him-he knows were out here and that is okay with him. It's really beautiful when you think about it like that. It's all on a spiritual level. Just a thought.

But i'm really diggin' "Planet Earth", i just really get chills when he sings about could you send your 1st born to war, when you don't know what were fighting for, or do you care about our fragile atmostphere, and then the guitar climax at the end, it just made me think about things abit more deeper and how we forget about the lads and girls out there, and other crap stuff that goes on in this world!!!

I know i got a bit deep on you, because normally i be diggin on "chelsea rogers" or "guitar", but it made me think alot when i heard "Planet Earth".

Nurse I had been thinking about your short analysis of Somewhere Here On Earth,it's simple yet interesting and it does make you think of that in a spiritual way. But you finally got me when you and only you congratulated the two winners. That showed me a part of you that I really like and admire and based on that and your analysis I want to give you my last bottle of 3121. OK here is my synopsis I'm going to do Chelsea Rodgers.


A while back Giovanni said this song should be played on a good sound system to appreciate its quality and funk. I've never liked this song due to Shelby's vocals and the disco horns. Being open to new experiences I decided to pop PE in my brand new Expedition (because the system in it bumps fo real) and take a ride around my neighborhood to see if this song would grow on me. Well I did it and nothing happened. I still don't like it.

Ok I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
