Ok, sorry that was Duran Duran's Planet Earth. Trying to be funny or confusing, but to prevent myself getting in a legal entanglement with Prince's lawyers, or in poop with the mods here at the prince.org, let me say:

Planet Earth will be much like 3121
a bunch of hype when first released will be number 1 album its first week out no radio friendly hits so will die a quick death prince.org patrons will fight for months on what songs are good or suck on the CD(not album  )

Something that is not said at the begining of this thread is that apart from Guitar, Somewhere and the album title "Planet earth", there is a brand new tune called "Shadows and Chains" played at a Vegas show.

It is not a cover of Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain". Prince refers to Fleetwood Mac's "The Chain" in the chorus which is quite different. I bet this tune will be on the Planet earth as will be The best of you. [Edited 6/7/07 1:14am] | |

the album will be spiritual in nature more like TRC (but not as conceptual) than 3121 or Musicology. ppl will remain pissed as they don't like the "spiritual Prince". (remember how PISSED people got when he said he was going to study the bible; gasp! sad state of affairs indeed) i expect a couple songs like SOTT or Chaos & Disorder as it relates to the "world condition" but different. with all the attention he's gotten since the SB, i expect some guitar work, but more so a couple of real gems. ppl will be divided like always. | |
