Forgive me but who, on Gods green earth is CJ CJ is a writer for the Minneapolis newspaper (I forget the name) who is always writing snide, snarky remarks and stories about Prince. Most of the stuff she writes is smug and not all that nice. Listen to the song Billy Jack Bitch...it's about her, Prince even name checks her in it.  (Borrowed from Squirrel Grease's avatar. I'm 99% that is CJ.)The check. The string he dropped. The Mona Lisa. The musical notes taken out of a hat. The glass. The toy shotgun painting. The things he found. i listened to this ... and i am more into this performance than i would have been ... so it worked for me (alil promotion never hurt)
i always try NOT to get too up for these things ... no offence Prince ... i dont really wanna hear "lets go crazy" and "purple rain " snippets ... 
but hearing some classics like watchtower and even foo fighters ... sounds promising to me ... | |

Keep in mind, if you hadn't heard a new, GREAT Prince song in some time, wouldn't you have a similar reaction? I have to admit that I had a similar reaction - instead of giving Howard a smokin new song, he gives this cover medley?!? While I LIKE it, I think I'd prefer to hear something brand new and just smokin. I really hope he doesn't play this @ the Super Bowl (I have a feeling he won't). Just seems like a strange choice of song to give to Howard since its obvious his camp is trying to make a splash of sorts... | |

imho, here's why he would send this to Stern. The average Joe, beer drinking, football (therefore Superbowl) watching guy is not a Prince fan. Can't tell you how many times while gambling in Vegas, I had some guy asking me "why?" is Prince playing the Superbowl. However, that is the bulk of Howard's audience. Cover of Foo Foo Fighters- a song a lot of guys like, I know my non-Prince fan boyfriend sure does. Get something on Stern the monday b4 Superbowl that the guys like, maybe they'll actually watch the half-time show, or at least not make fun of it. (Friend's husband (who also listens to Howard) is actually going to the Superbowl and has joked with me that he'll be sure to miss the half-time show...) As far as covers at the Superbowl, I've already predicted he'll do two- "Crazy" with Shelby and "Play That Funky Music White Boy" both of which he is doing in Vegas on a regular basis. You think football fans don't know who Prince is?  Look there are some people who don't get him and never have...but the NFL didn't hire Prince to do the halftime show because they didn't think he was a draw. Shannon Sharpe a former player for the Denver Broncos and baltimore Ravens and currently is a analyst on CBSs pregame show...said and I quote. The only reason I'm going to the SB is because Prince is doing the haltime show" P might not sell records but black folks and a ton of other people know that when P gets up on that stage...he is no joke

i personally was always a fan of Howards ... i did NOT follow him when he went on the "pay for view" Sirius thingy ... but ... i do miss HIM ... i think it is so COOL that Prince did that ... Howards audience is huge ... and very CLASSIC ROCK oriented .... so while some would scoff ... i think it is cool that he is still open to HOWIE (and his crass humor , etc) | |
