Here's what channel 4 says;

The UK Music Hall Of Fame - what's it all about, eh readers? Well, it's a special place that pop stars go (don't confuse it with the dumper!) when they've been all clever and sold millions of records, influencing music all over the world with their planet-sized talent.

Last year, The Beatles, Madge, U2, Elvis and other similar pop legends were inducted in the the Hall Of Fame. This year more names are to be added in the 2005 ceremony, proudly sponsored by Onetel, but who will they be? It's all very exciting, is it not.

To celebrate, Channel 4 are showing two weeks of music programmes leading up to the broadcast of the Hall Of Fame ceremony on November 17. Hurrah! Read on to find out what's on when!

You can buy tickets to the ceremony by phoning 0871 2200 260 or visiting this site, but why part with your hard-earned when you can get tickets for nought pence? Click here to enter our nifty competition!

It's supposed to air on VH1 on Nov. 25.

PRINCE HEADED FOR UK MUSIC HALL OF FAME: Musician will be inducted during a Nov. 14 ceremony.

*Add another accolade to the long list of achievements earned by one of the baddest musicians on the planet.

Prince is the latest artist to be confirmed for induction into the U.K. Music Hall of Fame, which will take place during a ceremony to be held Nov. 14 at London’s Alexandra Palace.
Patti LaBelle and Joss Stone are among the artists set to perform during the event, which will also include the induction of James Brown, Bon Jovi, Brian Wilson, Dusty Springfield, Led Zeppelin and Rod Stewart

Inductees for the third annual ceremony are selected by a steering group, which consists of more than 60 artists, journalists, broadcasters and industry executives.

A delayed broadcast of the ceremony will air Nov. 14 on BBC Radio 2, while U.K. terrestrial TV broadcaster Channel 4 will beam the event Nov. 16. U.S. audiences can catch the ceremony Nov. 25 on VH1.

This is only the 2nd (or 3rd) year its been going and they only induct one artist or group from each decade so I guess someone got voted ahead of JB by the UK public the first time around .

Also:

Prince is to be inducted into the UK Music Hall Of Fame next week, it has been confirmed .

The pop superstar will fly into Britain next week to receive the accolade, appearing at the event at Alexandra Palace.

Meanwhile, Jimmy Page will also attend, to personally accept the induction of Led Zeppelin into the pantheon of UK music.

Prince joins Brian Wilson, Dusty Springfield, Zeppelin, Rod Stewart, Bon Jovi and James Brown as the 2006 inductees, with George Martin receiving an honorary membership.

The 2006 UK Music Hall Of Fame takes place on November 14.

The first article to actually go out on a limb and say Prince is actually attendng the ceremony, though we still don't know whether he will go as far as to perform.

Has anyone here actually heard anything solid?

I'm in touch with the Production company thats putting the show together and they have told me 'his guitar is on standby'.

I'm making the trip down from Manchester so obviously I'm a lil crazy for a performance. Has anyone heard anything? Any aftershow rumours? What time are people heading down?

Not to (purple) rain on your parade mate but I honestly don't think there will be any kind of performance. I think he will fly in solo, pick up his award and fly back across the pond. Of course I could be completely wrong, I just don't want you to get your hopes up too high.

I'm a Huge Prince fan (aren't we all) but I got to tell ya the greatest thing that's gonna happen to Prince there, is the fact that he's gonna see Wolfmother live.

IMO, they're the best Rock band to come out since Zepplin! Hopeful it will inspire Prince to let the Rock Beast come out from his Funky Soul.

Here's a link to Wolfmother incase anyone cares to check them out. If you like classic rock sounds....this is the band for You!!!

http://www.wolfmother.com/

P.S. After entering the main site...look to the top right corner to enable the audio and you can listen to their songs cool

They only have one album so far but I can honestly say I've listen to it as much as Purple Rain, SOTT, Lovesexy and well...you get the point, any 80's Prince Ablum. They were ALL Classics to me.

Well, I hope Prince seeing Jimmy Page there will inspire him to let "the rock beast" out actually. lol I'd love to get a photo of the two of them together backstage. razz

I am seeing Wolfmother though next Saturday in a small-ish venue in Cologne. excited

It's a good week in music for me: Prince at the UK Hall of Fame, Jimmy Page as well accepting for Zeppelin, and then Wolfmother live. headbang I can't forget my earplugs because it's going to be LOUD. horns

If you read the threads about the UK Hall of Fame, we don't even know for definite Prince will show upto the event. We know even less about his movements after that. Chaka Khan plays on the Wednesday night at his Vegas club, so it is more than likely he will simply return to Vegas for that.

Apparently Dermot Leary was on morning tv today saying that Prince was coming and they had been asked to provide facilities for a guitar to be plugged in.

Perhaps we will get another acoustic rendition of 'Don't Play Me' like he did at the Webby's?!

Anyone know about some kinda party happening @ Cafe de Paris tomorrow night? I'm wondering if Prince'll be there ( or anyone else? ).

It's meant to be a prince party for his hall of fame induction.
