Hi wave

There aren't many to choose from are there ;

The Ride
Purple House
The Question Of U (not sure if this really can be called blues)
The Undertaker
Don't Play Me
The Truth
5 Women
Cream
Peach
How Come You Don't Call Me Anymore ?

i'd say the latest

(kept thinking of more edit smile )

Possibly because 'If I Had A Harem (Blues In C)' is not also known as 'Downhome Blues' - as they are different songs written by different people - Prince having written the former.

I would say 'Sometimes it snows in April' is a blues song it definitely makes me sad and you can tell it was very heartfelt - it's one of the few songs where Prince doesn't scream at all. touched

Silent shouts, I hope you hear
I'm calling out to your body
Baby, you know just what to do

I think what the guy that started this thread meant with 'blues'
is the kind of music which abides a certain chord progression , not just or
necessarily sad lyrics smile

I do agree with you about the song , however , dispite that the lyrics are fiction smile
