I'd love to date a girl that appreciates prince

im sick of it =p

most girls i meet of my own age think prince wrote 5 songs in the 80's then stopped making music alltogether until recently

im not asking for a prince freak, just a prince 'liker'

is that tooo much 2 ask?

Keep your head up, you are bound to find someone that digs him. I can definitely relate to your situation, but lately I've had the priviledge of meeting and dating a fair share of women that LOVE Prince. And when I say love I mean they have bootlegs, they like the non-radio/album tracks and dig albums like ATWIAD, Lovesexy, TGE, and Dirty Mind. It's even more suprising when you considering that one of my current interests wasn't born when Dirty Mind was released...lol Seriously, I know they are few and far between, but they do exist. cool

Personally speaking, i think it would be cooler to meet a fit chick who doesn't know alot about prince so that you could teach her a lesson in good music.

i went out with a girl who was as obsessed as i am with Prince. it was great- we went to concerts together, listened to a lot of stuff together, shared our rare bootlegs, then had a very messy break up. now i can't listen to some songs without thinking about her. sometimes i like that, other times it makes me quite blue. we don't speak to each other which makes it worse.
and the best bit was her surname-Wild.

Thats a thought I have had for many years! I have been out with girls that thought he was ok or liked his mid 80s stuff, but never a mad fan like me! lol maybe we should start a dating thread! lol In fact If i could find a girl that loves prince and loves to watch Football (soccer) then bingo!!

sorry 2 hear that- hope it didnt turn you off from listening to any of his music

i think id prefer to date a girl who just liked prince rather than a girl whos a prince fanatic- otherwise things would just get 2 crazy

a girl who owns 4-10 prince albums would be ideal.. haha

I'v been lucky several times. But, it's not easy. If you share those moments and then break up the tears are brutal. Well worth the risk.
My wife now could care less, but my baby daughter loves dancing to it! One more fan in the making.

It depends on what you want in a girl where she lives
where you live, I've always appreciated Prince,in fact I wrote
him and told him myself and then the day of the concert I
proved it to him and he blew me a kiss directly to me. So
tell us what you want and you might find her. I am single
and I might be looking for someone that would like to enjoy
Princes music with me. Good luck!

I met my girlfriend at Paisley Park and when we were both more obsessed it seemed to almost be a problem but now that we like him more casually together it's great.

It's not mine. If orgers are a good representation of Prince fans then I stand far apart from most of them. I'm much more likely to have a lot in common with a Siouxsie fan.

I kinda like that my boyfriend isn't a crazed Prince fan... we def. have different musical tastes, but our rule is that whoever is driving the car gets to pick the music...~

Even though he's not crazy about P., my boyfriend plays guitar and says he really appreciates him as an artist... which is awesome... Also, he went w/me on an 8 hour bus ride to see a Musicology concert, and he enjoyed the show very, very much.. I like that we complement each other, musically..~

That is the down side to being with someone who likes Prince almost as much as you do. If it does not work out, it is hard to listen to him without thinking of her...

I am a white woman & I did not have many boyfriends growning up that could appreciate Prince. One of my male ex's liked him enough to know a few songs and he did not pick on me for being an obsessed Prince fan (like most guys) so it was not too hard when we broke up because we did not share the obsession just the occassional listen.
Then I met a girl that really loved Prince almost as much as I did... She was my first girlfriend and after the break up , it was very hard to listen or think about Prince for a long time. There's still a few songs that I cannot listen to and that was 4 yrs ago...
My husband is not a fan so he does not get it, Prince is my own special obsession, that's fine with me. I do not like sharing my Prince CD's.

Be careful what you wish for. At least be secure and sure of yourself. I am a Prince freak and was deep in my Prince obsession when I met my husband when I was 17. To my delight, he was also a lover of Prince music, even going as far as impersonating Prince during a lip synch contest in high school. Plus my future husband played guitar, adding to my happiness at finding him. But as our relationship got deeper, his hatred and jealousy of Prince developed as well.

You see, he was jealous that I loved Prince so much, and he obviously knew that I thought Prince was intensely hot. Even though Prince was a far-off, untouchable man for me, it made my husband really jealous. He started saying that he hated Prince songs. Even after we were married, after a huge fight, he destroyed my entire Prince collection, which consisted of only records and tapes back then. He meticulously shredded each thing I owned. Even really cool picture discs that I bought in Canada. I had painted a picture of Prince in oil painting class a couple of years earlier in HS, and he even ruined that! (I know, he sounds like a nut).

Thankfully, we both have matured since then. I hide my Prince CDs, but only because he likes to borrow them, and is prone to losing things.

All I'm saying, is you might think it is cool now to get a girl who loves Prince as much as you do, but you might become jealous if her love of Prince is obsessive.

Sorry for being so long winded. It's Friday night, and I've had a few drinks!
