Come on, that white outfit is ridiculous. wacky

Anyway, maybe the freak is feeling a little daring again.

I agree!!! It worked in 84/85 but to me it started looking a bit odd after 95..
sorta like the mixture of a Persian woman and a Monk. lol

The thing he had on last night was way better than the get up from 1984/85. At least you could tell it was a hooded shirt. That sparkly purple scarf from the grammys in the 80's looked like someone had thrown a bedspread over his head. lol

Damn, he looks hottt with that black suit & hat... well, the white one hmmm I'm not really sure about that... It's very Prince... beautifulstrange wink NEway, I love the way he doesn't give a sh!t about fashion - "don't"s. It's of course more princey and special than the black suit... but the black one has my vote though. It's just too sexy bow

Remember to keep in mind, Mr. Nelson is a huge success at everything he has done. He has been an innovation in most everything he has touched in the span of his career.
We, however, are simple fans. Who are we to critisize him over something petty as his attire.
When you become a huge success in something then you can feel free to play the role of that ANNOYING woman off all of the E! awards shows.
Until then, let's remain deligent fans who appreciate the individuality that made us all become fan in the first place.

there are some really immature and ignorant ppl online and its a shame that as prince fans -all the negative comments have been made mainly on his clothing!
when we all know for years prince has always dressed differently.
his style is what brought some ppl to like him, his music and the diversity in it, is what we like, because it never sounded like anyone else's and of course thats what he's all about from clothes to performance and sound!

prince looks unlike anyone
sounds unlike anyone and just is unlike anyone.

comments about him being an old black man trying to look young is just ignorant!
prince is a man first and his color shouldn't even matter and we know how good black ppl age any damn way!

prince isn't old, he's matured alot with age, but he still looks the same, doesn't have to try hard, everything this man does is effortless and he's great all around baby!

prince isn't running around with lil jon or nelly!
he's doing what he's always done, been in a league of his own.
he talks a bit more...he's media friendly these days, but he's also independent as an artist, he has to build up his rep as a more accessible artist now, because he doesn't have a contract, so if he wants tp make more money and somewhat change his perception from ppl who just didn't get him, just listen to the man now in 2005!

he actually makes sense...and i think its great he's making these appearances...no one laughed or booed, they started screaming when they heard music legend, and they jumped to their feet when his name was immediately announced!

prince is all that, and i thought, he looked great!

I found the outfit to be absolutely befitting of him. It does remind me of an "atlantian/egyptian futuristic peace outfit" A kind that you would find everyone wearing in a "peaceful" world.

I would like to ad one thing on this topic:

When Prince Rogers Nelson walked up to the mic to speak, it was ok for people to scream and be happy for him; however, it was rude when he started to talk. When a person is presenting an award and it is a moment when "respect is due" people should heed the words of the speaker (aka this moment) Prince Rogers Nelson.

I heard him say "Women are" then screaming... I would have liked to have heard what he said re: what women are. So with this being said, maybe people will learn respect and "listen" to what the person is saying instead of screaming to be heard themselves at an opportunity when the SPEAKER is trying to present an IMPORTANT MESSAGE to everyone (in this case globally.)

Thank you.

Thank u sweet SING MIA 4 explainng this so I can better understand... Yes, the outfit DID depict a cloth one would wear in THE NEW WORLD... Never thought of that, as I think God might just want us nakidd, since we'll all B PERFECT. smile As far as the respect they didnt show HIM, this seemed 2 B the case at the LAST celebration of life at Paisley Park studios on the last concert nite as well, when Prince was trying 2 talk about something spiritual, BUT ppl started screaming and shouting and cut him off. It was pathetic, as lots of us WANTED 2 hear him speak I'm sure... I DID! However, PRINCE has 2 know THE WORLD is satans workshop, and PRINCE is out in satans shop. THIS WILL HAPPEN. sad God says thats ok, as those persecuted should rejoice, bcuz we're doing something RIGHT...and HE is! LOVE U BROTHER PRINCE ROGERS NELSON Inside & out. I believe in U!!!! .
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

I am rather surprised that no one has bothered to comment on the fact that P's audience reception as presenter dwarfed that of the award winner! I don't no if anyone received a bigger show of admiration and respect. It was raucous. What does that say about a supposedly [i]over the hill former rock star of significance, now in his mid forties[i]? Let's see Usher pull that off in twenty years. lol

Equally entertaining was actually watching Rene's demeanor and body language when she was on stage with him. She was absolutely fit to be tied drool3 and it wasn't because she won the award. Check out the clip and watch her. It seemed to me that at any moment she was going to stop mid-sentence and say "Dayum...Prince!" At one point she begins to say something to the effect that she is was so pleased to be standing here tonight...yada yada yada. I could swear that she made a course correction diverting from an acknowledgement that she was sharing the stage with THE MAN. All of this completely evident on the face of on one of hollywood's favorite leading ladies in the 2005. That is way cool. cool

The person screaming was wrong, but I think it was more of a "I Love U" or "Sing for Us"....etc. affection than a cut down as some of yaw seem to think
