Stevie Nicks was somewhat into Prince at the time and "stand back" had been inspired by Little Red Corvette. She was so greatful for him coming over and playing the keyboards that she gave him co-writing credit, even though he had nothing to do with writing the song. | |

In 1986, Modanna visited Paisley Park, where they generated a handful of embryonic ideas. Later that year, when Madonna was acting in the David Mamet play Speed-The-Plowon Broadway, Prince approached her backstage with a mix of "Love Song," one of the numbers they had taped; Madonna found it more exciting then she had rememberd, and she expressed interest in including it on her next album. And just to fill in those blanks, I took this from this thread on HQ: "Madonna has already confirmed in interviews that Prince played guitar on Like a Prayer, Keep it together (he also played bass). Love Song ( obviously but madonna played keyboards) and Act Of Contrition." So, he didn't write any tracks with/for Madonna other than Love Song - but played instruments on Like A Prayer, Keep It Together and Act Of Contrition. (That list of credits reminds me of Prince's 'official' input into Sheila E's 'Romance 1600', and we all know he wrote every song on that album bar one - but I do NOT consider this the same situation, I do accept the above as the true amount of input Prince had on LAP). // [Edited 9/20/04 1:15am] | |

In the early 90s,there was a story about a lengthy interview Prince did that's been placed in a time capsule and will not be released until 200 (?) years from now. Anybody remember hearing this? Supposedly,this interview is the most honest,revealing interview he's ever done,but he doesn't want anyone to see it until he's dead (well,in 200 years,we'll ALL be dead,lol). | |

I know the program told the "story" of why he did it--because the Black Album was just a negative response to critics--but it is what you say about a bad trip that I wonder about. I have heard this before (and having done extacy I can believe it) but I still don't know if that's the real cause. I don't think anyone but Prince's inner circle know for sure. If it exists, I figure that it's actually something really personal, and that he wouldn't want anything he said to come back at him or be criticized for any of it, so he doesn't want it opened 'til after he's dead. Either that, or it's a tape of Prince laughing his ass off at us because everything -the songs, the odd behaviour, everything -was all some grand joke meant to keep us guessing, when it really all meant nothing.
