***On the song "When Doves Cry",I actually thought he was singing "....and in the most tricherious poses,they feel the heat"....lol....as if "tricherious" makes any sense!

***I once got into a debate with a girl who insisted that,on the song "Erotic City",the lyric is "If we cannot make believe",as opposed to the more common "If we cannot make babies".There is also some uncertaintly as to whether Sheila E. is singing "We can FUNK until the dawn" or the more commonly quoted "We can FUCK until the dawn".

good thread! my mis-heard lyric comes from "u got the look". i know there are lyrics with SOTT album, but i just didn't get round to checking them for years...

anyway, in the line "closin' time, ugly lights, everybody's inspected", i heard "closin' time" as "clouds in time".

and i always thought it was a really cool line, as if prince was conducting the clouds in the sky: "all right now! clouds in time! on the ONE!"

a couple of other things:

1.) what is whispered near the end of "mountains"? first someone shouts something which sounds like "bobby on the drummer!" and then there is a whisper which sounds like "starfish".

2.) i understand that the lightening seeds (uk pop group) took their name from a misheard lyric in "raspberry beret"- "thunder drowns out what the lightening see[d]s".

I know this may sound stupid but before I became a big fan every time I heard Little Red Corvette I thought he was saying " Living collect.". So sue me I wasn't into his music too much back then.
