I don't mind it's streaming only, I suspect that this is only some kind of protection agains members who share right away with othre people what they just download from the site... I'm sure we will be able to download the stuff later on this year.

I had no trouble reupping for 2003.

What a bargain. I paid from $50 to $100 for Purple Circle seats to the 1984-85 shows and $100 for the club last year.

P must realize that the economy sucks thanks to George W.

And with no middle man, like Warner Brothers, he's able to give his fams a vastly improved site for less than the live CD set retailed for last year.

The site reminds me of his Interactive CD that I played with at the preview at LA Glam Slam but didn't buy because I didn't have a desktop. (I was to busy using the LA Times laptop program to write sports stories that I didn't know the web existed until I quit in 1998.

The new site works great if u have a cable connection like attbi, soon to be comcast. I tried SBC Yahoo DSL for a couple of months last year and DSL is slower.

I can't imagine how frustrated I'd be if I still had a phone connection and had to wait for the pages to load.

But even with cable the videos still took a while to buffer and they sometimes stopped because of traffic.

As for the dogs on the site, I've heard that fams who've taken that little service road in back of P's estate in Uptown have been greeted by attack dogs if they ventured onto his property, which is marked by a small guard house and covered by trees and bush.

Thank God P hasn't lost his sense of humor and after 20 years, and he doesn't have to throw pies at little boys like Mikey.

Another approach for storing/playing PC based video files is taking the TV out (available on most newer PC videocards these days) and feeding that and the audio outs from your soundcard into a VCR etc.

PS you can capture the streaming audio easily to your hardrive as a .wav file and burn it to cd etc. Use your favorite recording app and your soundcard's mixer record settings for the 'wave device'. I use Syntrillium's CoolEdit (www.syntrillium.com) for recording software.

As u probably all know I had my struggles with Prince and his lawyers last year about my site: www.paisleyparkvault.com. No the problems gets even bigger. They denied my IP address from accessing the website (www.npgmusicclub.com) though I have several other options to enter the site, which I am not gonna explain here, of course smile. I won't join this year. In my opinion Prince is lacking big time. All I expect from Prince, as an artist, is a brand new Album this year, but probably he won't release it, by knowing it won't be bought through regular CD Shops. For a complete overview of the Battle between the PaisleyParkVault.Com! and Prince check out the news section on www.paisleyparkvault.com

The online resource for Prince Bootlegs, like:
Sabotage, Moonraker, Thunderball & Premium...

Don't you think your signature tag could better reflect the reality of what the site actually is, an online resource for *reviews* of boots like the above? Big difference...

I just can't understand:
Prince could easily find a super webdesigner and for if tried to get the best in life!
I just saw the flash space-intro, and, well, it's just bad taste! The letters don't go from the same point: it's too bad, to cheap and almost crap… and that blue button! A secretary would have done the same job!
You click and then you suppose that you are going to get in a space ship! Logical. Not at all: it's a palace!
Does this picture come from an old CD-rom or what? This is just too old and untasty work! I would have done a wonderfull picture if Prince asked me, and for free!
And what about that "join" page: brrr…

God, is it that the 'BIG THING"? Come on, it's ugly!
Remember:
Loveforoneantoher.com
npgmusicclub.ocm first version

That's was fantastic at that time, and very pro! Not that cheap! I already regret the flashy previous site!
Guess Prince will get a real 2003 manager to kick his ass!
If Prince needs a real webdesigner, he can surf on: calhoune-square.fr
pureviolet.org
housequake.com
cybersingle.com

It would be nice if the video material would work. Right now, it just keeps buffering and rebuffering.

Hi,

I am a wee bit concerned that the NPG Music club joining form is not encrypted/secure.. Has anyone else not noticed this ?

Littleman...same here. I finally was able to register after about 8 tries with Oracle errors and finally after signing up I can't login.

As an older prince fan (37) who is in a customer service oriented business it continues to amaze me the lack of forethought put into Prince's business ventures. I'd hope the folks who work for me would have tested and retested the site before opening it to the public. I would expect they would look at all possible snafus and do everything in their power to get it right.

The fans who expect the most would be the ones signing up first and when the guys on the fence see the problems the hardcore fans have with the site, I would expect they might think twice before signing up.

Sad thing an unbelievably talented artist with very little customer service/business sense. Yo Prince, get some professionals running your bizness so you don't look like your doing things halfway.

I am in the web site business. The hardest part about launching a new site...is the traffic. You never can really test your machines are going to work when 1200 people try to click on the same link at the same time...

Websites are still ran by machines that have capacity issues.
