Can you get a table if your royal

{{{The Observer a british sunday paper has a short piece in their food magazine that mentions Prince. They ring up fancy eating places and find out how easy it is to get in if you're famous!

Can you get a table for eight at 8pm tonight? It all depends how royal you are...

Bibendum, London SW3
Prince William:
'Eight o'clock for eight people I'll just check. Oh, for Prince William let me see the manager...I'm very sorry but we can't do anything before 9.30'

The artist formally known as Prince:
'Eight people. Hold on one moment. We can't do a table for eight this evening. We do can 9.30. I'm just trying to think here, let me check again. Yes we can sort that out'

Queen Latifah:
'Eight people will be possible after 10 this evening. Before...oh Queen Latifah...from the film Chicago? Oh well, I'm sorry we just don't have a table before 10 o'clock'}}}

The Witchery, Royal Mile, Edinburgh
Prince William:
'We don't have anything till 10. People are physically at the tables. Our sister restaurant the Tower has a table at 8.45 but we couldn't offer anything before then I'm afraid'

The artist formally known as Prince:
'The first table I have for eight people is at 11pm. For Prince! I would have to give the manager a call...It would be fine to have a table, he can come whenever he likes.'

Queen Latifah:
'We're very busy this evening. We can't do any tables for eight, perhaps she could try tomorrow.'

Moro, London EC1
Prince William:
'I'm not sure that I have anything left. Oh, I wish we could do it. I'd love to have him, but I can't even guarantee a later table'

The artist formally known as Prince:
'Prince...wants to come and eat here tonight? Let me put you on hold. Eight all together...oh its difficult but I think that Prince can probably eat here'

Queen Latifah:
'Eight people? I think it will be impossible tonight. Who is Queen Latifah? Oh well i'm sorry but we just don't have any space for her'

So there you have it...Prince has more celeb clout than Queen Latifah and Prince William!
Live life and be happy

And people say he hasn't got superstar status anymore.

Looks like Queen Latifah would struggle to get herself a Burger King.

Well, the real reason probably has to do with the fact that Prince wouldn't eat much, whereas QL might devour everything in sight!

Ironically enough, Prince carries more gravitas than either Prince William or Queen Latifah and would have no trouble getting a table anywhere here in London mainly because he can be relied upon to behave himself and not cause a scene. Simple as that.

Nothing to do with "status". Despite his reputation as an oddball in the press Prince could never be categorised as a trouble maker or a rabble-rouser, something top restaurants over here really frown upon.

The same cannot be said about the likes of Prince William.

But why are they still calling him 'The Artist formerly known as'?

It could be because they think it has a nice ring to it. Either that, or they're really slow to catch up...
