Kim is not wealthy. Most of those that worked for Prince are not wealthy. Prince died so suddenly that many completely lost their means of living and P never established benefits for his people. You often hear people near P say that he would give them personal items and tell them it was their 401K. Giving his hair to his hair dresser is not hard to imagine. Prince didn't care about this world after he left. He was always living for the next life and left a legacy for those here on earth. I seriously don't think hair, combs or socks are something he cared about here on earth or in the after life.
As far as Kim's manager, assistant, etc, These are not professionals. They are not getting paid. They are all volunteers. She is doing this the hard way and working hard to get her story out. I'm not an insider but I did hear remorse in her FB comments. Lets not be so hard on her or any of the Purple Family. She made a mistake and will probably make many more. She probably is navigating this whole experience by trial and error.
Steve, I'm sorry you feel betrayed by Kim. Go to her. Obviously, her manager (by self-proclaimation) is the person who failed you. Sit down and hammer this out directly with Kim. Don't bring it to the fams. It looks like you are purposefully trying to hurt her even though I know that is not your intent. (otherwise you would not have pulled down your original post. You don't want harm to come to anyone as a result of your words.)
Kim, thank you for letting the Fams know you have reached out and are trying to make amends with Steve and to do better. I want to hear your story and I want to see Steve's photos. I intend on purchasing your book just as I have purchased Steve's. Ask Steve what he needs or wants to make this right and work together as a family. Yes! That's what we all are, Family.
As far as P's stinky socks, who care?? If she wants to sell them, they are probably the most affordable personal item a fam can purchase. If you look at the auction, Michael Jackson's socks and shoes are being auctioned off too. If you are disgusted by the item, don't bid on it.....and don't bash Kim for selling it, or another for purchasing it.
As Prince once said in one of his live performance of The Ladder; 'Don't you want to be the generation that gets it right? Don't you want to show the world that this can work? I know I do. Let music bring us together. If you don't know the words, step back and listen. If you do, sing along and listen to perfect harmony."

How many times was he supposed to beg her privately to stop? After a while you get tired of talking to a brick wall and you change the approach.

^^Êxactly. What's pissing me off the most is that she got called out from the fams AND steve and the least she could've done was to admit that she fucked up big time. But what did she do? She tried to blame both incidents on "gross misunderstandings".
How old was Kim when she worked for Prince? It's funny, Mayte said the same thing about money and that he didn't pay good....but you know what she did? She walked up and complained to him about that. And she told us in her book that he wasn't even aware of how much anybody got.
If it was as bad as some try to make it out to be, why didn't they complain to him about it like Mayte did? I don't know if there's another example of someone actually talking to Prince about it. It's just kinda embarassing that a 20 year old got more guts to complain to her boss than someone who's much older than her...and if you can't complain about the money, quit and find another celebrety to work for.....jesus, they act like Prince kept them as hostages and as if they had no other choice than to work for him, no matter the circumstances.

Plus the fact she said she worked for him for 29 years, which isn't true at all. In the police records it is stated that she quit working with him 6 years before he died, so 'her' timeline is way off.

I don't agree with Kim attempting to auction Prince's hair, but I think her use of the photo is less cut-and-dried. I wonder if she had indeed requested permission to reproduce the photo of her and Prince, would Parke have agreed. After all, it IS her image and it is probably included in his book, from which he is profiting. Although the law probably does not require it, I'm also wondering if she has been compensated for the use of her likeness in his book. Yes. If its the photo of her doing Princes hair, she is a part of it. So with so little left to go around about Prince, and time passing enough that people are grabbing for this or that sometimes, I can see her thinking she’s “due” half of something. But he is right, it was premature and inconsiderate and hurtful of her to just go ahead and assume action like that. Oh well. What are you going to do in a situation like that? Best to not get angry, I say. Live and learn is all.

At 60 or older years old, you try and start all over. Isn't that what the PRN Assoc Foundation was started? They don't have money. Prince did not fund 401K or medical. They were not the ones who got rich. They followed their hearts and had an awesome experience playing, performing, or in the presence of/with Prince.
'The Boss' as you call him, didn't have a ton of cash himself at death. He, like Elvis and so many others, is worth so much more dead than alive. Paisley Park may not keep it's doors open much longer due to cash. There are no winners as a result of Prince's passing. Neither Kim nor Steve (or anyone else for that matter) is going to become a millionaire based on their books.
We are all outsiders looking in. We don't know the whole truth. You, Penny Purple, nor me, Kiki 5490. This is why it shouldn't have been put out on a public forum. This should be taken care of in private by the two of them.

You don’t see other associates doing things Kim has done. I’m sure many of them were in a similar situation. No record companies were knocking on Shelby’a door but she’s not out there putting Prince’s hair and socks up for auction. I’m sorry but it’s hard to have sympathy when so many things keep getting chalked up as a misunderstanding. But only after being called out by Prince fam. Paisley Park is in your heart

That one photo from Italy where Prince is photographing the media and Kim is standing behind him is from November 2010. So she must have still been working for him then. That was my first thought. Prince left behind a VAST fortune, much of it liquid assets like cash and gold bars. Not to mention his STUNNING list of real estate assets. To the extent that Paisley Park's future is not assured, it is due to P's lack of estate planning.

Musicians performing the music is much different PennyPurple. I want them to, to keep the music alive when they were a part of it. I would always prefer the people involved in creating performing the music to do shows and such over other artists 'covering' the music. Any day. And they cannot do it for free.

They would've never have known about it, if she didn't give them it to sell. This was on her social media about the uproar over Steve Parkes. I don't believe her statement either. "More than 25 years" instead of the usual working for P "more than 29 years" I've read a lot recently. Slip of the tongue? There's always a rainbow 🌈 , at the end of every rain ☔️

Did Kim herself confirm she hadn’t worked for Prince for 6 years? If she was doing his hair in November 2010 I find it hard to believe all of a sudden in January 2011 she’s no longer working for him anymore. If she wasn’t working for him the last 6 years of his life than the most she could have worked for him was 19 or 20 years. Yet she’s claimed 25 years, 29 years and nobody has called her out over it. The fans did call her out on her claims and still are, at 1 point I believe she even shut her social media account down over it. Her story always changes on how many years she worked for P. I'm not going to go over 1000's of pages in the files to find out who exactly made that statement, but it is there.
