I just saw this on Facebook and also saw that she´s stopped the auction.

Kim Berry strikes me as a genuinely nice person so I was a bit shocked to see this auction but then again, she probably didn´t have any bad intentions...but still, I do find it very creepy. And disappointing.

But on the other hand there have been many other auctions in the past where people sold some celebrity´s hair so I think at some point this is bound to happen again.

Picasso used to keep his nailclippings and hair because he was superstitious.

I was looking forward to her book but this auction left a bad taste and now I´m wondering if the book will actually be worth buying because this makes her look a bit unprofessional.

This isn't the first time Kim has auctioned off some of his stuff. If my memory serves me correctly besides socks, there were also some broaches and earrings.

Quite a few of his 'friends' have auctioned off things, but the worst things so far has been his hair and one of his Bible's. That's pretty low.

Yeah,I'm thinking no on that as well. I saw a post of hers at the top of my FB feed earlier but it disappeared and went to another post. I wonder if she has made any statement regarding this.

I already messaged L.A archives on FB, still waiting for the answer, but if I remember correctly it was Kim who already had sold his socks... so....

Hair to me would be downright creepy. Way too personal selling a piece of somebody's body, though im sure it happens often.

If you had a strand of his hair prior to him dying would it be ok?

I think that kind of thing is very common.

Again, without a DNA test, how can it possibly be proven to be a lock of Prince's hair??

How did you know that?

She seemed to be a nice, easygoing, loyal and likeable person during most interviews.

I´m genuinely shocked to see her go so low.

Not sure if I still want to read her book.

Him gifting me with a strand of his hair, which would've never happened in a million lifetimes, still if, would be ome thing and an honor. For me buying a piece of his body post mortem too creepy. Im aware others feeling differently but thats a step too far for me. Just heard on the news a lock of some President's hair is going on auction so obviously its not unusual.

It's not unusual at all. For hundreds of years people have kept locks of hair of dead family members and loved ones. The Victorians even took it to new levels with hair jewellery and art. I don't see it as creepy, just a little odd that's she's selling it. Guess she needs to pay dem bills. razz

LOL

It seems like something Prince would do, give a strand of lovesexy hair

Yeah, but after death would be weird. Unless a person knew him personally.
I was always a bit leery of Kim. She kept him in the same hair style for almost 10yrs.

There was this aristocrat whose name I can´t remember off the top of my head but he kept all kinds of hair from his mistresses and concubines and girlfriends and put them in envelopes. Even pubic hair.

After his death his relatives found more than 7000 envelopes. lol

I don´t like that Kim uses the title "confidante"on that cheap looking poster.

If she truly was close to him and a true "confidante" she would not use that title like that.

1st. What's EarlJonesPurpleTouch?

I don't know what Prince would do but I get it's been a thing since the beginning of people time but it's normally such a personal gesture to give a piece of onesself that selling it to the general public comes off like selling hot links on the corner for a quick buck. I'm still teetering on this but if true there just had to be a better way of going about it especially with all this stuff on RKelly and MJ right now, there was absolutely no tact.

She's a liar, when we asked LA archives they told us that the hair was giving to them by Kim herself, she's just trying to safe her ass by claiming that there has been a misunderstanding. I'd bet everyting I own that the hair wouldn't have been pulled from the auction if fans wouldn't be outraged.

That's nothing, evidently the Prince Photog, Steve Parke is having his own problems with her....Look up his FB Page.
