"June"

Pasta simmers on the stove in June
Makes no sense yet, but it will soon
Conversation starters come way too hard
Nobody wants to be the martyr,
playin' the wrong cards
Why did you come to this planet?
Why did you come to this life?
How can you be everybody's dream,
and still be somebody's wife?
Tell me, what did you have for lunch today?
That's right, how would I know?
How would I know?
You are off somewhere, being free
while I starve in the lonesome cold.
Our bodies got used to each other
Now they're used to the sound
of Richie Havens' voice on the vinyl,
spinning round and round, round and round
Sometimes I feel I was born way too late
Shoulda been born on the Woodstock stage
But I'm just here, waitin', and waitin', and waitin'
Somebody famous had a birthday today
All I saw was another full moon
What's that?
Something's burning on the stove
Must be the pasta
Must be the pasta
Oh yeah, it's June

I like the song and I think it has a nice ambiance to it but it is sad to hear him like that. He sounds depressed to me.I feel the same about Way Back Home. Thanks for posting the lyrics Michelle.

Since it was revealed that Nothing More was written for Prince,I wonder if she will ever talk about it.In the past she's described the song as "the quintessential love song" for her and that it was written about the person "having your heart completely" and that it's a scary feeling like "no man's land." Most suspected it was about Prince but now that we know for sure,I wonder if she will confirm. She sang a beautiful rendition today for her StageIt and she really put her heart into it.No mention of Prince. She also didn't sing TIME or What It Feels Like with Yellow Gold and WSC as she usually does.

I saw that she sang "Nothing More." It is such is a beautiful, timeless ballad. Her mother was also in the cyber audience. If I'm not mistaken, she posted hearts during/after "Nothing More."

I noticed that too. She also requested Oui Can Luv as she did last time.

It is.He seemed to be very down when he wrote it and Way Back Home. I sense some sadness in his voice in This Could B Us as well.I remember he once mentioned in a interview that he had deep depression while recording the Dirty Mind album and would have to call people to help him out of it. Perhaps he struggled with it off and on throughout his life.

Perhaps he did struggle with periodic bouts of depression, pink. Increasing numbers of people are acknowledging depression, but far too many cases are undiagnosed...and untreated.

That's very true. After reading Judith Hill's statement,it made me wonder if he was dealing with depression along with everything else he was going through.

I wish this also. Badly. I have said before that those who had the pleasure of working with him, I would be so grateful to learn more and more. I wish they all would release any information that they can...Some may see it as a money thing..I see it is leearning and passing informaiton down.

We need to let 'the future' know as much about him as we can. Someday all of those people will be gone and incorrect facts are passed down as history.

Thanks 206Michelle. I wasn't aware that he recorded both songs so close to the release of Phase 1. I'm curious when they were written.Andy has said in a few interviews that a lot of the songs they worked on and wrote together ended up on the last few albums so I wonder how much knowledge she has of the writing and recording process.

I would love for Andy to share what she knows about Prince's music from the last 5 years of his life. The same goes for Josh and other associates who have "inside information" about his music from this period.

I would like nothing more; however, I would be surprised if Andy were to open up about her time with Prince in any significant way. Already, she has what Prince would call "an army of haters," as he mentioned in "Revelation." So, if she were to even think about writing a book...or even granting an in-depth interview, she would probably be SAVAGED. Still, I wish she would at least post a previously unseen photo...or two...on her social media. pray beg I'm just saying...cause I know that Miss Andy is HOLDING. nod

I really enjoyed the interviews that Dr Funk did with Adrian Crutchfield,Marcus Anderson,Dave Hampton and Scotty B. More like that would be appreciated! I think it would be nice if he could talk with Andy.He mentioned in a podcast in 2016 that he spoke with her after one of her shows and invited her on the show.He also said he told her that she didn't have to talk about him if she didn't want to and that she seemed to appreciate that.

I don't see that happening,at least not anytime soon. Someone also asked her in a chat in 2015 if she would write a book about her time with Prince and she said that if she did write a book, she would rather wait until she has more life experience and cover everything not just one time period. I would also appreciate it if she would share at least one more unseen photo of him if she has any more. I love the one that she shared in her tribute post.

That's very true. After reading Judith Hill's statement,it made me wonder if he was dealing with depression along with everything else he was going through.

Another point is that depression and addiction (to painkillers, in Prince’s case), while distinct conditions, are often comorbid.

Yes.With him mentioning that he suffered from depression in his early twenties,I wonder if it was clinical.

I have no problem with them taking their time ( though I would love to be around to read it)...I would not expect now' I would be willing to wait also so that I got more solid info..not just a picutre or 2..smile

I don't know why she would have haters..honestly..I don't read those kinds of posts overall. Or I skim by them. In some ways the only one (not my opinion) that I can see why some dislike is Mayte...only bc she put herself out there on the the EX WiVES platform..... All of those shows are sensationalist..They try for fighting.. Putting info out there in that manner (EX SHOW) versus a book..is a big difference..She can't get flack on the book..it was her experience..The show...not so sure..Any of them that went on a show like that veruss a book or some sort of interview, I would not feel it is a heartfelt interview....

Though....Maybe people should really back off of them if we want them to share things with us.And not be catty overall. We (fans) have NO right...we didn't spend any work or peraonal time with him.

Funny...all these years I never really cared about the personal life, studio life, etc of Prince.. Just a huge fan since around 81? Now that he is gone..I really have a need to read or know all that I can. Not in a negative, salacious way....Just disappointed he's not around.

I am mainly interested in hearing from the artists, musicians and engineers who worked on the last few albums. Josh gave a good,in depth interview in the one linked on the last page. He spoke a good bit about the recording process also and gave some insight into what went on behind the scenes in the studio.I really enjoyed reading it. I agree that we as fans should be careful how we treat those who were close to him and knew him personally. I appreciate any thing they share,be it a story or a photo.

The Goldwater Rule does not apply to what I wrote because I did not render a professional opinion about Prince. Rather, I merely stated the well-supported research finding that addiction and depression are frequently comorbid occur together).

I've wondered if Andy has any photos that she took of him. She said in one of her posts after he passed that they took each others photo playing with ring lights. I'd love to see photos like that! She might feel funny about sharing personal photos though.

As would I!!! Prince was looking very fit and healthy during his time with Andy, so I would welcome seeing more photos of him from that era. I'd also love to see more of them together.

I agree! I think that his look in 2011/12 was one of his most attractive.I do wonder as much as he was photographing her,if she was also doing the same with him. I saw a photo of her yesterday from 2011 where she was holding a camera and I wondered if he had taken a photo of her, preparing to photograph him. lol It was said that there were outtakes from the shoot with Justine.

lol Why did you tell her off? I remember that she asked fans to leave their number on her FB and that she called a few. I thought about doing it but decided not to. I also wondered if he may have been with her listening to the calls.

Sigh...You made an assessment based on opinion alone since you didn't site source(s) however accurate they may be in many cases. The Goldwater Rule can be applied and extended to anyone making diagnostical assumptions without proper diagnostic tools. Medico-Legal studies 101.
Carry on.

The way I read it, Michelle simply stated a widely accepted medical reality. In no way did she indicate that she was trying to offer an "assessment" or diagnosis relative to Prince's condition.

I thought it was someone playing on the phone. Because I have a LONG history of people doing that to me. Plus I was in a VERY bad mood that day. I let her have it! But she was so sweet about it. But U know how U can tell when someone else is on the phone? I later figured out he was listening. Because that sounds like something Prince would come up with. Andy had promised me something. But of course I NEVER heard from her again. I felt so bad. Fast forward months later after they broke up when I attended her show. I ran into her and.....
