It is sad indeed. Yet, when one puts oneself out there, they will endure this type of consequences. Why don't we pick on Bria or Carmen, for example? They understood it was best to stay out of the way.

But so far, that isn't happening Mayte Susannah Mani Sheila are all cool

I still don't know what Bria 'Valente' was in 2009 ... she's married, I think right after she and Prince parted ways

Carmen might be embarrassed from her opening shows 4 the Nude tour. I need to do a Prince & Carmen thread, I just did not ever think of her, back then or recently

They might be cool or appear to be but some sure get a lot of hate around here. I

What was Carmen embarrassed by?

Let's not forget that these women loved him, dated him, married him, Mayte lost two kids with him. He abruptly passed away at a young age. People are still shocked. Fans, who never met him, never seen him in concert, etc., are grieving like crazy and want every ounce of everything Prince they can get, info, memorials, tributes, etc. Imagine what these ladies who were actually loved by this man are going through! It's only been a few months since his passing, so it's still fresh and raw to many. This was not just any man. This was one of the greatest musicians, performers, artists of all time who existed in their lives and ours. As I stated earlier, I'm surprised by the degree of Mani's involvement, but maybe I shouldn't be. She was his fan, his friend, his wife. Even though it's been years and they both moved on, it's still hard to let go. Mayte's involvement doesn't surprise, as I feel she never got over Prince.

Exactly.

Why not just see the show without the fanfare? Especially when she has spent money hiring lawyers to convince a judge that her privacy is at stake and part of the complaint has to do specifically with social media postings about her as well as claiming that paparazzi were stalking her.

Why would you post your business on social media so that the very people you claim to want privacy from will know exactly where you are??? disbelief

But as usual people want to make this about those of us who are pointing out the odd behavior rather than the one who is engaging in odd behavior.

While I don't care about any of Prince's women in any way, shape, or form, I do agree with all you've said here. Actions speak louder than words. So does hypocrisy and we're definitely seeing some of that.

Let's be real. The mere fact that somebody was once in our lives doesn't necessarily prove good intent. If we are being honest rather than simply nostalgic we should remember that.

Show of hands, how many people on this thread were once into someone that they would stay as far away from as possible today? Thought so. They loved him but he moved on.....pay your respects and move on. That has nothing to do with taking your time to grieve...take as much time as you need.

Furthermore, absolutely NO one on this entire thread or site has said that any of these people should not pay their respects and grieve.....NO one.

The extent to which that grieving becomes a bit of a spectacle is what the discussion is about. And it is a valid topic, especially once people put themselves out there after so much whining about privacy.

Btw, is the memorial belly-dancing class sold out?

Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

She wasn't very good and the crowds there to see Prince disliked her performance. Prince tried to fix things by replacing her band members with his own but nothing improved as that was just papering over the cracks. Eventually Prince put her out of her misery and let her go.

I think there's one ticket left on the belly dancing class. Any takers?

Bring your own belly dancing costume* and packed lunch as refreshments will not be provided.

*we have a couple of costumes available but they're a bit raggedy, if you don't mind that you can hire one for an extra $5.

No, you are not making too much of it. People had a damn cow around here when we started asking questions months ago. There is only so much of her role playing the merry widow that any man worth his salt will put up with.

I'm sure the Strib is taking notice too since the 30 days for her lawyer to file objections in the divorce case are almost up. But again, when we questioned the wisdom of her actions people tried to have kittens about it.

I don't recall seeing a single pic of her in the family memorial program either.

I saw her and her husband at the Academy Theater for the Purple Rain screening, so she is making the rounds.

I don't know if the personal relationship continued or not but I think the musical one ended pretty soon after. Prince invested a ton of money in Carmen that basically didn't pay off. Carmen's beautiful but she can't sing, is a poor dancer and a hopeless actress. But she's beautiful.

Let me say this and then Im done with this lady and all the other opportunist who were once apart of Prince's life. Its amazing to me that these folks are now appearing to be so concerned and involved in affairs related to Prince's memory, but let us not forget that he DIED ALONE IN A FUCKING ELEVATOR confused So I dont have sympathy for any of these mofo's confused From all these associates selling symbol material and booking belly dancing classes...shit is foul. People have EX spouses for a reason. Prince moved on from Mayte and Mani so to be honest they shouldve shown their repsects to him and let that be that. But since April the public has seen more of these two women than theyve ever seen before...crazy. Prince divorced both of these women back in the early 2000's one it appears never moved on and one is remarried with kids eek Like I said before the second one is now lamenting the fact that she was a gold digger and a stupid one at that...all this couldve been hers, but Prince saw better and moved on. She needs to stop following Prince's bandmates which she wasnt even around when they were playing with Prince, Stop posting on social media so she can say his fans are harassing her and go somewhere and raise her children. The aftermath of Prince's death has been worse than his death itself, but it has truly made me see the light regarding some of these so called Associates. Lemme say this again...I will never support another damn thing that any of them do and I mean that!!!

I wish I could've taken a snap of Mani and Eric, they were arriving when we were leaving after the show and getting some pics with Jerome. Mani was wearing an above the knee red/black dress, she seems tall and was pretty thin, her man had his hand on her lower back walking by us. I had my nephew with and pointed them out...thought she was too traumatized to be out at an event where there was surely members of various web-boards in attendance, didn't she saw she was being stalked/harrassed by us?

There was supposedly an after party with DJ Questlove but we passed because we didn't want to get involved with the Prince Pecking Order display, that was so obvious. The way some of the other ladies kept staring at me made me feel a bit off tone.

I have a feeling this pecking order thing will be going on for at least another year, God help us all!

I can honestly say that I respect folks like Susan and Brenda who showed there respects to Vanity and Prince and kept it moving. Even Nona who obviously had issues with Prince but she has left well enough alone and moved on with her life. Prince fans are very unique and alot of us have been around for 30 years or more we never met the man, we never knew him or married him, but through his gift he touched each and every one of our lives and some of us have stuck around after his death to keep it real and sift through all this bullshit just to keep the legacy of our hero legit and alive.

Its interesting too that every time a thread is created over the things that this woman does that particular mods always either shut down the thread or let it keep going to serve alterior motives and none of that shit would happen if Prince was still alive disbelief If U dont want threads created on the Org about you then stop going to every Prince related event and doing all things Prince...remember this lady divorced Prince cause she was tired of all "things Purple" how soon they forget confused
