Liv Warfield new cd

Will this be released on cd format is it just through Itunes. I want to buy it but I do not and won't buy through Itunes. Does anyone know if there will be a physical release? It does not show up through my distributor and there is only a Itunes link on her website. I am ok with a foreign country release also if that is a possibility. If anyone has a preorder link for a cd please share. Thanks!!

Per comments Liv has made on Twitter and Facebook a CD release is planned, but no date is set. Meanwhile if you're anti-iTunes but don't mind downloads the album will also be available on Amazon on 2/18 (no pre-order though).

I'm digging this so far. I didn't think I would like Liv, but I've been won over as a fan.

Thanks for that info. I was wondering if it was going to be sold on Amazon. I prefer to purchase it on Amazon, because I like the 'one-click' purchase method, and it downloads right away. Can't wait for the album. I really like the track 'The Unexpected'. Love the blues, rock funk sound of it, and on the Vh1 snippet interview, she said Prince wrote the lyrics. Song has a cool vibe to it.

There's an article about "The Unexpected" and you can hear it here:
http://music-mix.ew.com/2...nexpected/

Over in the Concerts forum, people had posted about Prince performing a new song lately which they called "Wow."

After hearing "The Unexpected" (which is a good song with good lyrics! Why does he tend to give his better songs away while he puts out songs like PBL with lame-o lyrics...), it seems like "Wow" is "The Unexpected."

Its just too bad their wont be a physical release. I am sure there are alot of old school fans out there that do not do downloads. I have not even downloaded Prince's music so I definately wont do hers. I will buy the cd in a heartbeat though but I don't see this coming out. After the download is made available why would they put the cd out later? Its too bad. I like the little I have heard

That's exactly what happened with the Andy Allo though. It came out digital first, then a month later the physical CD (via Amazon), so we'll see...

For me I pre-ordered it on iTunes because, to me at least, the music itself is more important than the format. I have no problem with digital, but the beef I have with this release (and Allo's before it) is why not include a digital booklet with the download with all the album artwork, liner notes, credits, lyrics, etc. like many other albums have?

Did you listen to the 2nd half of the album? That's what made me like her.

She reminds me of Dionne Farris a little.

Yesterday (couldn't post it then because the Org was down) Liv, when asked on Twitter, once again reiterated that a physical release was coming.

Great!! I will wait on the physical release. Just seems dumb to release it for download first but then again I gues this is a Prince operation so I guess being backwards is to be expected huh.

Actually that's quite common with indie acts. I remember the first Sleigh Bells album was out digitally for a couple of months or so before the CD was released. I suspect they wanted to get Liv out quickly to capitalize on the Jimmy Fallon appearance because, unlike Prince, it's not certain when or if she'll get another national TV appearance.

Much as Beyonce could only "surprise" people with digital first, it seems they wanted at least a pre-order to be available after Fallon and a physical release would have taken longer (from what I've read on Liv's Facebook they're still working on the CD booklet). So ironically this might be one case of the Prince camp taking advantage of a promotional opportunity for a change.

I just saw the video for "Why do you lie" an I dug it.

How much was Prince involved with this?

Cause tomorrow is taking too long
and yesterday's too far away
and the reality that you believe in begins to bind.

Prince is the executive producer of Liv Warfield's hot, sultry new album....

On February 18, 2014 Prince protégé and New Power Generation vocalist will unleash her latest album, The Unexpected. The album is a rock-tinged blast of “alternative R&B soul,” as described by Warfield. Prince served as the album’s executive producer and co-wrote the song “Your Show” with Warfield. The title track is a Prince original as well. The album, issued by Kobalt Music Group, will be available as a digital download.

Liv just posted on Twitter that you can download the "digital booklet" as a pdf from her website. It has full album art, songwriting and production credits, etc.

http://www.livwarfieldmusic.com/

At the bottom of the page where it says "click here to download digital booklet".

Would anyone agree that this is Prince's BEST protege album?! Or Andy & Bria's???

Andy's album is cool. I love Liv's album. It brings back the soul/r&b/ballads' sound that's missing from today's music. It's genuine soul. 'Your show', 'Stay Soul-Lifted' , 'The Unexpected', are just 3 of my favorites, but I pretty much like all the songs on that album. Like a few here have said, the instrumentation works well on the songs, and good to know that somebody is bringing back real soul, and has the voice skills to bring it out to the point you can feel, so-to-speak, the lyrics with the music.
