Liv just posted on Twitter that you can download the "digital booklet" as a pdf from her website. It has full album art, songwriting and production credits, etc.

http://www.livwarfieldmusic.com/

At the bottom of the page where it says "click here to download digital booklet".

Thanks for that info.

Would anyone agree that this is Prince's BEST protege album?! Or Andy & Bria's???

Andy's album is cool. I love Liv's album. It brings back the soul/r&b/ballads' sound that's missing from today's music. It's genuine soul. 'Your show', 'Stay Soul-Lifted' , 'The Unexpected', are just 3 of my favorites, but I pretty much like all the songs on that album. Like a few here have said, the instrumentation works well on the songs, and good to know that somebody is bringing back real soul, and has the voice skills to bring it out to the point you can feel, so-to-speak, the lyrics with the music.

I agree..Its a very grown & sexy album & eye want her to marry her.....

Okay, according to the credits, we can probably say that Prince is playing (something) on "Your Show" (it's got an NPG credit for musicians)--but is he playing on "The Unexpected"? I didn't see him on the credits.

What sort of information is out there (as far as what has anyone involved said about) what "executive producer" means on this album?

According to the credits:

Prince and Liv co-wrote 'Your Show' and produced by Prince

Instruments: Played by New Power Generation

Prince wrote 'The Unexpected' and produced by Liv Warfield and

co-produced by Ryan Waters/Tyrone Hendrix

Instruments: Ryan Waters/Tyrone Hendrix/Chris Turner/Marquay Seamster

Some of the songs have a bit of rock-edge to it which is what I lovee too. Its not a straight R&B album. She mixed it up nice. cool

Exactly, and you're correct, because the album has a mixture of funk-rock, blues-rock, alternative r&b, and soul vibes mixed in. On 'Your Show' don't know what type of horn it is they have in there, but it has a deep, bass sound that compliments the song.

Oh..well IMO Liv's album is better than Andy's and way better than Bria's. I do like Andy's and Bria's but I love Liv's. The only thing is I'm not sure of the extent Prince worked on the UnExpected.

As far as the O7 I was just mentioning that The Unexpected and Condensate are the best from associated artists ive heard to date.

I found this article:

Liv Warfield Talks Working With Prince on 'The Unexpected'

Posted Thursday, February 20th 2014 @ 4am

Photo: Getty Images

By Sierra Marquina

"VH1 Soul You Oughta Know artist and Prince protégé Liv Warfield is dropping her latest album The Unexpected today."

The album, which Liv describes as “alternative R&B soul”, also has the influence of Prince, who Liv spent the majority of her career touring with. In fact, Liv tells us, Prince served as the album’s executive producer and co-wrote the song “Your Show” as well as title track “The Unexpected“.

Nice to know Prince recognizes and appreciates the talent of all 3 of his backup singers - Liv, Shelby and Elisa.

Judging by the song selection and direction of his most recent protoges, Andy Allo & Liv , Prince scored a grand slam. Both women put their best into the songs and delivred with flying colors, when you say that there is a dearth of great music available, make the effort to find these hidden gems like Liv and Andy. Two months into this brief year I am parking Ms. Warfield's The Unexpected in position number one with the expectation that it won't fall below fourth place. FIVE STAR all day.

Yep--so, according to this, it ain't him on guitar on "The Unexpected"? (Obviously, the NPG could mean anything from him by himself to any combination of 20 or 30 different people--and the fact that it doesn't specify anyone probably means it's just him, imho).

I believe it's Ryan Waters on guitar on 'The Unexpected'. Either way it's a cool album. Love the instrumentation of the songs. I bought the album because I appreciate Liv's vocals on it. I've been sold on her voice, ever since I saw a clip of Liv, Shelby and Elisa singing at the Village Underground in NYC. Her vocal skills goes to different levels, strong, yet can change to mellow/soft. Amazing singer.

In industry terms "executive producer" usually means overseeing and financing a project.

Its odd given that Shelby started working on hers before Liv but she still hasn't produced. Maybe she's having difficulty song-writing. I wasn't blown away by North Carolina TBH. In fact I played it once and forgot about it.

Well, after saying I was not going to get this I downloaded it and boy, am I happy I did... Her voice is amazing. I tend to like more subtle, quiet vocals rather than big voices (I guess that's why I love Superconductor so much...) but there's no question that Ms Warfield can sing... At the moment I love Fly, Freedom and Your Show, but I am finding myself playing this album on repeat, so those favourite songs might change after a few listens.

Why would you assume that? There didn't seem to be a specific timeframe as to when her album was actually going to come out. Especially when you don't know what's going on behind the scenes, other than she is still part of the NPG family. For all anyone knows she could be working on her album. Don't forget that she works with her own band too so, I wouldn't put closure on that so fast. I actually enjoyed her single 'North Carolina' by the way. It has a funk-reggae/blues style to it. I think ShelbyJ will be just fine. She has an amazing voice as well as Liv's.

I'm quite sure Prince produced and arranged alot more on this album than he takes credit for. Just as what I thought about the Andy Allo album. The arrangement and production is just too damn good to not have been made by a top producer like Prince.
