At first glance, I f I Was Yo Man is the number 1 track here. It's in everyone's top 5 save two people and it was number 10 for those two.

I laugh everytime I see your Mazerati avatar and then read your many posts dogging out O7. I mean, you rep for Mazeratti. Mazer-Fake Time-ati??? The group that let Prince dress them up in lipstick and dresses. The group with one album, featuring one good song on it. You rep that sht, but then you come at 'Condensate'. Yeah right...

I noticed that too lol He's a Mazarati diehard and I think he feels a little bitter(?) because his favorite band isn't back on the scene with a new album. That might explain some of the 'mean' comments about the Original 7ven.

1. Toast to the Party Girl. Great jam. Throwback to some good time reminiscing.

2. Condensate. Just too funky. GREAT cut!

3. If I was yo Man. Fantastic. Period.

4. Role Play. Amazing. Funny (Jerome). One heck ouf a cut!

5. Faithful. Classic Morris schtick with a modern vibe. Love it!

6. Hey Yo. Could be higher on my list. Fun song. It mixes modern music with classic "feel good" Time. If any other artist today did this song, it would be a #1 hit.

7. Strawberry Lake. Good fun. Great feel.

8. Trendin'. Okay tune. Actually, very good, but a little too commericial for my tastes. But a VERY good song, nonetheless.

9. GOHOMETOYOMAN. Love it. Morris at the end is at his finest.

10. Lifestyle. Cool tune.

11. Sick. Good song. Like it. Don't love it.

12. AYDKMN. Eh. Bla. Nothing special.

13. Cadillac. Okay. Just not my thing.

14. One Step. The only throwaway song on this CD, in my opinion.

As a whole, this is a VERY good album. It's on constant repeat.

The public is squeezin' you kiddo. You'd better kick ass on your next album or else!

Nah fam. Mazarati's album is EASILY, EASILY, EASILY, EASILY the funkiest, most slamming, snare-cracking, serious funk-face-making, make-you-jump-up-and-down and say "UNGH! GOOD GOD!" album that ever came out on Paisley Park. Every last song on that album is a stone-cold funk classic, with the possible exception of "Lonely Girl" which is still ok.

Not only is Mazarati's album better than "Condensate", it's better than "Ice Cream Castles" and "The Time", and equal with "What Time Is It", IMO. One good song, LMFAO!!! Guess you never really listened to that album at all then.

I don't share minneapolisfunq's dislike of "Condensate" though because I DO really like the album. But I understand his grievances with it because they've gone for a new sound that differs from what fans of the first 4 albums love for the most part. A lot of the fans, like me, will dig the new sound too but there are those that won't, it is what it is.

They've gone for a slightly different sound because the original sound wasn't theirs to begin with, as we all know Prince played all of the first 3 albums on his own (nearly!) cool anyway i really dig it, not as much as fDeluxe, but it's still really good. cool

Yes, exactly. If Prince had worked on the O7 album, it would be much, much funkier.

But it still pretty good.

In your personal, and apparently deeply deluded and funk deprived mind, does Mazerati have a single funk classic. I doubt you could find a single person that has EVER heard their album outside Prince fan circles.

It's been spelled correctly by multiple people in this very thread, so all you need to do is read. The fact that you "don't care" has no merit when relating to basic spelling skills.

and "Players Ball" is a funk classic, so is "She's Just That Kinda Lady" which gets a lot of play in the underground club scene and was recently sampled on a dance song too.

That aside, I'm really not sure why you're so angry. Ya girl leave you for one of the Mazarati guys or something? Somebody needs a chill pill.

Dude, get out of here with that. Player's Ball ain't no funk classic. Nobody's ever heard of it except Prince fans. Any yes I noticed you don't have your old avatar up anymore. The pic of you with the make-up and stuff? Is that why you trying to ride for Mazarati, now? Are you really just defensive about men wearing make-up? If so, then just say it. Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaa.

Yes, I changed my avatar, several months ago, because I predicted some random ass person I've never even noticed before would in the future make a jibe about a random band I like from 25 years ago wearing make-up, just as everyone else did at that time. As if Prince wore any more or less make up than Mazarati or any other act on PP... matter fact he still does.

You are a very strange individual. The way Mazarati look has zero bearing on their music... which is, was and has always been awesome. Honestly, you would have looked FAR less idiotic if you'd asked if I was related to a bandmember or something, rather than trying to make a random connection between me, an old avatar and make-up.

Also, the music video for "Players Ball" was played, along with several other PP videos, before Prince's recent set at Hop Farm Festival, where 50,000, mostly non Prince fans were attending, and everyone was loving it, in fact several asked me who it was as they saw I was singing along.

nod I've introduced about ten people in my circle to this album who aren't big Prince fans, they had never heard of this project and they were in their teens back in 86 when this album came out.

BTW I was only seven in 86 and already a Prince fan so I knew about the album and had the 45 single of 100 M.P.H., it's all scratched up now biggrin

I didn't say you changed it for any particular reason. I just noticed that someone who dresses up like Mazarati is making some extreme claims about the music, but if you say otherwise then fine. Anyway you made my point for me. You admit yourself, that in a large crowd of people... no one knew what THE HELL was on the screen, except you: the delusional cat in drag making an azz out of himself, so that EVERYONE will notice that you know the words to the song. Case closed. And the ONLY reason Prince is playing the stuff now has to do with his desire to BLOCK the group from gaining rights to their album's master. Not because it is a 'funk clsassic'. 777-9311 is a funk classic.

SoulAlive

I like the Mazarati album, but let's not get it twisted lol On their best day, they couldn't do what The Time could do.It's really not a fair comparison anyway since Mazarati only had one album while The Time has five.

Who's delusional? All of a sudden I've gone from wearing makeup to dressing in drag. News to me! Pretty hilarious how you seem to know so much about me (although it's all wrong) yet I've never even seen your name on this forum before. Get off my dick, dude and stop having drag fantasies about me.

As for the bold part, sure, I guess that's why Taja Sevelle's video was played as well. And Brown Mark's, whose album wasn't even released on PP so Prince has no legal claim to it anyway. Yeah right. lol
