her eyes are the saddest i've ever seen them. and her body language is very closed and not wanting to communicate. she's afriad she's gonna have to anwser the hard questions.

+ she's holding her arm in one pic = a common subconscious attempt at self comfort

+ she hiding her arms behind hee lower back = support and withholding info

+ pursed lips = tight lipped, not available for comment

+ holding her head to the side couple with the leg extended forward = back off!

+ she's turned her back to the camera = the obvious





and yes i know i sound a right wanker. i can't help it i've been analyzing bodylanguage in images for the last 3 years.

a good, general rule is: if you want to know what the person is feeling of thinking pose the way they are posing, do what the are doing and you'll feel how they are feeling. of course there is always a lot of masking and combinations but . . . ... for those of you who are interested in applying it yourselves.

While I agree your points on the basics of body language have merit, in this particular case (a woman posing on the red carpet) I don't know that you can really read much into the poses/posing.

Go look at 50 other photos of other female celebrities on the red carpet posing for photographs for the paparazzi: they ALL do those same standard poses Mani is doing in these pictures. You see it a billion times - hands behind backs, looking backwards over their shoulder, etc. Females on the red carpet pose that way for many reasons, a main one being so the photographers can get good, clear shots - both front and back - of the dress the celebrity is wearing.

The way Mani is standing and posing in these photos doesn't say a thing to me, and she almost always has that pursed lip, tight smile thing going on so that isn't really remarkable, either, imo...it's her overall facial expression and her eyes that speak more to me. She appears unhappy.
