I was at the show and it was awesome. My co-worker works the ticket window and the Roxy and she showed me the guest list that included Prince, Lenny Kravitz and Nikka Costa were to arrive at Midnight and join Sheila onstage. Nikka and her husband, Justin Stanely were there in the VIP area but P and Lenny never showed. According to P's people, he was already in bed (!) Nikka ended up leaving around 12:30.

The show was crazy good. It ran over 4 hours and featured many different sides of Sheila. Soul, Gospel, Latin, Rap....I'll write my review later on...gotta work!

okay, what happened? we had to stand in line for an hour to get in..once in i got smashed off of the worse red wine ive ever had in my life.....the rest i dont remember...

actually, as we waited for the show to start we spotted susannah and doyle in the VIP section.....Strange enough they had to have walked right by me to get in but I didnt notice them walk in....But after we spotted them I knew to keep an eye out for others....And sure enough in walked Wendy and her lover Lisa Cholodeki...I got to say hi to them real quick as they walked by..Luckly catering was heading into the VIP section and they were forced to backstep right next to me so I got Wendy's attention and asked "you playing tonight"...wendy responded with a sheepish, "we'll see"...noticing Lisa getting annoyed at Wendy's excitment at seeing my friend Girlbro I grapped Lisa and shared my love for her new film "Cavedweller"....she looked at me suprised so I went for the kill and congradulated her on the independent spirit award...That floored her. She thank me and Wendy grabbed her and whisked her away.....

Others pointed out the Escovedo clan and Jan Child in the VIP section...

as far as the show is concerned? An awesome time was had....the song selections were odd to me (i am not that big of a sheila follower) but I thought it was cool that she decided to play a lot of early prince related stuff (holly rock, romance 1600)....

the coolest moment for me personally was getting the chance to see Wendy riff *LIVE* during Kiss.....To see her make those classic video looks during the "lil wendy's parade" moment was a moment i will forever cherish...

Now, sure sure people are griping about the overlong drum-off but for me it was pitch perfect....To see the Escovedo family in action is a wonderful thing...You can see the love on that family as they cheer, wince and glance each other over.....I could have watched them share the love for hours.....

Sadly I couldnt stay till the end...I had an early flight to catch back to the bay area (and work) so we left right after the drum jam...Sheila's offical site mentions Siedah Garrett getting on stage..That would have been awesome to see..And I didnt see half the famous folks that were sighted (Nikka Costa, Mike Tyson, Dawnn Lewis, Kiki Shepherd, Wayman Tisdale, Jane Child, Flex, Jose Canseco, Jack & Beth Coleman, Tom Verica (American Dreams), india.arie, and Shanice Wilson.) but thats cool..I wasnt there for star gazing....I was there for the show...And Sheila didnt disappoint.....

so thanks Sheila for making my monday work day hell..it was well worth it..
