...do we really need all those stickies in the M&M forum?

I'm not trying to harsh on anyone's handiwork, but it's kind of ridiculous that you have to scroll down to see more than a couple of threads with newer subject matter.

Agreed. I find it annoying (apart from presumptuous).

I did find it a bit odd that all of the stickies come from the early period up to ATWIAD. Are there eventually going to be stickies for every year through 2011? If so, that will fill up the whole front page of PM&M. If not, then a lot of fans of his later music may be miffed.

The new mod and I have been in discussion about that. It will get taken cared of by them.

I love OldFriendsForSale's threads, they're always really interesting. And I like him having so much Prince knowledge and not being overbearing like others are.

That said, I have found it disappointing that the conversion of the threads into Stickies has been simultaneous to him being a new mod.

But that's my fault. I'm not a youngster anymore, I should know by now how things work.

Interesting threads will be on top of the list by nature, because a lot of reactions are being given.

IMO Stickies are good to make sure an new and hot (news-)item gets discussed in only one place and not all over the org.

Yes, but to skip all of them you must scroll half the forum.

Even if the threads were REALLY interesting (which for me aren't at all) it would still be a nuissance having to scroll other people's over-inflated ego until you reach the lastest things people wrote.

I guess you didn't understand it: with my sig I meant that ANYTHING, stupid as it may be, can be a thread because unfortunately EVERYTHING is accepted here.

I never said 'anything can be a sticky', especially if who (one-sidedly!) makes them stickies is the author. If you throw into the package that this was done as his first act as moderator we have a clear ego problem and an abuse of authority.

In fairness, I think it just looked confusing because OF4S added a further sticky - admittedly being what I assume will now become the index thread - after your post about a discussion taking place, without any others being removed, which suggested that he'd been here, had seen the discussions and decided to press on anyway. Obviously that wasn't the case.

In any case, grateful to have it all sorted out now!

Obviously there was some experimentation happening behind the scenes - cool.

I think if the one sticky that's there now contains titles and links to all of the era threads, that will be a terrific way to let the various threads rise and fall as people want to post in them, but will make it easy to access any one of them at any time.

Vitriol, you and I have had problems in the past. Your posts and someone else who I won't mention are based on 'personal' feelings.

There was an attempt to get those era threads into 1 post which is why I stickied them to find them. I was trying something that another Mod suggested and it didn't work just yet, but we are working on it. It has nothing to do with ego. And there are a lot of other positive threads about Prince's music from other members that will be highlight into this as well.

Time for positive change to the 1st Prince site I joined.

I'm glad things are like that now. OldFriendsForSale, your threads are great. I don't mind them becoming a Sticky. For me, it's fine. What I said is that I find it strange that the conversion into a sticky was simultaneous to you becoming a moderator. I don't think I'm particularly devious if I think like that.

Anyway, we'll keep enjoying the discussion about Prince's music, which at the end of the day is what matters.

If this was, indeed, a work in progress, why not just come out and say that - instead of replying with "certain people are just jerks who don't like me, anyway." That doesn't seem to me to be conduct becoming a moderator. Shades of things to come?

Where did I slam anyone Genesia? There were at least 2 posts along with your and someone else's snippy remarks in other threads that went on for a while before I saw them this morning. I never attacted anyone for their remarks about questioning what was going on.

Why do I or any of the Mods need to come right out and say something since I thought it would have been done right then when I stickied them.

No problem Javi, of course it could look strange...

It was simultaneous because I and another mod were talking about it... prior to it happening.

I was in the Mod chat for about 3 months, talks of doing this and other things were in the works for a while. It had nothing to do with any kind of ego or control issues that others have suggested. Anyone who knew me as a regular member knows I love and enjoy talking about Prince music, I usually skip over the topics not about music. And the members new and old who know me know that I am very generous on the front and on the side with 'sharing' everything I have as far is Prince is concerned... No ego involved.
