It’s obvious he doesn’t want us as fans anymore, so why should we want him?” Who was that? you're famous dude. Anyway I dont know why NYT simplified our complaints and made us sound like a bunch of hypersensitive "slavish" fans. They obviously dont have a long history of putting up with Prince's ego trips. My name is Nep....and I am funky...when it comes to Nep...you are a JUNKIE! Hurt me!

Members of mileyworld.com, mostly preteen and young teenage girls devoted to the Disney TV show “Hannah Montana” and the show’s star, Miley Cyrus, are suing the singer’s official fan Web site for allegedly promising them first dibs on concert tickets and leaving them empty-handed.

It seems to be from "lazycrockett"'s comment...
The more I think bout it I say just drop him, remove all content let him have is way. It's obvious he DOESNT want us as fans anymore, so why should we WANT him. Let him move into his Xanadu and fondle snow globes for the rest of his lonely sad paranoid life.
The org will survive in one form or another, Id say just concentrate on a backup plan so if/when the boom is lowered everyone knows what new site to go to. From this thread: http://prince.org/msg/3/251366 ben -- "the prince.org guy" |

Ben, as seen by everyone who read the Times today... uhhh, I need to figure out how to edit Prince from the photo.... WHICH REMINDS ME!!!!! Did the NYT hear from Prince's attorneys about having his image in the paper? Now that would be an adversary.

Prince thinks the only reason you say his name is to get your 15 minutes of fame. But wasn't it Prince who danced around in ladies underwear so he could be famous? ROTFL. "Don't you think one of the charms of marriage is that it makes deception a necessity for both parties?"

I haven't logged in to post on this site in some time, but I felt compelled to repsond to this comment and thread. The fact that so many are in a celebratory mood because the founder of a Prince fan site appears in the NY Times along with a quote from another Orger appears to support Prince's assertion. You're heralding 15 minutes (actually much less) of fame dervived from talking about someone famous - Prince. Finally, Prince danced around in his underwear in his early days as a performer because he knew that he was a black musician in a world/music business that has historically undervalued and overlooked many talented black musicians. So, he knew that it would take more than his remarkable God-given talent to get him noticed and get his music heard so that he lead a lifestyle befitting his talent. Yes, the desire for fame on some level drove his behavior in part. However, at the end of the day, his talent speaks for itself and deserves every ounce of attention that it has garnered - and then some. At least Prince's fame is a byproduct of his amazing gift and achievements, i.e he's earned it. perfection is a fallacy of the imagination...

I posted Ben's pic, and related info in the article, so those who don't have access to the New York Times, can read what the article's about. Members of this site talk about Prince on a regular basis, with or without a newspaper article, or "fame". I don't believe it's caused any grief to Prince, when new fans have discovered AND PURCHASED new music, vids, products due to the exposure here. It's not like Ben contacted the Times, in the 1st place. The article "Pout and Shout" is about fans who are indignant with performers. Put a lid on it. [Edited 12/3/07 14:52pm]

I am eternally grateful that I have been able to experience Prince during my lifetime. As cliche as it sounds, he has supplied the soundtrack to my life. His majestic talent and the beautiful spirit it has created through his music permeate throughout the fabric of my existence. Thank you Prince!! Thanks Prince.org for creating such a great place to celebrate our man!" ...that's wierd...just a sayin'..... and you're suggesting anyone here needs 15 minutes of fame..... 911, dial now.
