MANCHESTER 21st 22nd

This will be epic. I tweeted kiran this morning saying Manchester BRIDGEWATER HALL IS best venue with awesome accoustics. Hope they listen either way it will be good. Wonder if they will ticket the event or announce venue on the day. On the day wud be better to avoid towts and casual fans tsking up valuable places

I'd bet money on at least one of those dates being The Ritz.

Yeah Ritz is a safe bet or acadamy or apollo. Bridgewater is booked up. Didnt Alicia Keys play in manchester cathedral and Bjork play at science musium? So anything is possible

The Ritz is booked up both nights, i think the Academy is too,

I did Tweet Kiran about the Cathedral a few week back, its only 1000 capacity though, i think the advanced notice means it will be a larger venue to give people a chance to travel. I book the Cathedral often for some clients of mine so I know the management quite well, i'll give him a call on Monday and ask.

My guess is Victoria Warehouse Trafford 3000-4000 capacity standing would be brilliant for 3rd eye gig, dingy warehouse feel but great atmosphere its where they did the Stone roses made of stone Premier, its free next weekend too and the weekend after Radio 6 have it booked both nights for some shows they are doing.

There is also the Monastry gorton again nice venue and the Lowry theatre.

The othr is the newly re-opened Albert hall, its a great space 3000 capacity over two floors woulf work well

This is all very exciting - and I am actually close enough to be a silly sausage about it. Saturday is probably my best chance - but obvs by then more people will be hip to him playing (maybe need to quarantine Oldham Street and some of those veggie restaurants and coffee shops until we have all got in...maybe promise free moustaches at Fred Aldous or something - I was distracted by cheap batman patches in the town hall once...but only missed a tram.

So, if we're thinking the Appollo is booked already, and the Ritz too (which is a shame, saw Public Enemy there - really good veune) - Bridgewater and Lowry sound cool, not sure how the MOSI would work either and would probably be too small. What capacity is the Deaf Institute where Trof is? Been to a few shows there and they were pretty buzzin...if he's going iconic or historic is the Boardwalk still going?

Shit...it couldn't sleep last night! Any ideas where everyone is meeting up, hanging around - would be good to put some faces to orgnames...and reveal my true identity (alas, not interesting at all)...

Really hoping this is the opportunity us northerners have been waiting for. Had kinda given up hope as can't get to London with the 8 hour notice and no advance sales.

Ready to take the day off work Friday if it's needed (and boss agrees).

Tash I really fucking hope that it happens for you after last time eh! Where's it ur travelling from? Looking at booking a Travellodge today I think. Even if it don't happen maybe I can have a wee holiday from the civilisation of Preston to the wilds that is Manchester...

Was just thnking Jodrell Bank would certainly fit iconic but that's outdoor so it might be a bit soggy for that, dunno what their season for gigs is anyway.

Trof and Deaf Institute wouldnt be big enough (albert hall is run by the same people) and they own Gorilla which is a belting venue but only 500 capacity and booked up, for them to give a weeks notice they need to now that there will be a massive demand, choosing manchester says to me they will be expecting a few, its central to everywhere so they should know that if people can they will come, people will be able to justify the journey more than scotland to london or something.

Shame the Apollo's not available, I seen him on the ONA tour there it would be ideal for this 3rd eye girl stuff. I don't know Manchester that well, The Lowry is City centre isn't? Are the other places you mention central?

Lowry is just outside the centre, media city around a 5 min cab ride

Lowry is a little bit out - Salford Quays, but doable by tram - that goes to mediacity. bit too close the ManuShited there like...the rest yeah, pretty central. The wife's sister works at Fred Aldous and there's all kinds of poncey promoter types around so she'll keep an ear to the ground (says there's a couple that are big P fans)...but won't share on here lest it gets cancelled - but will if/when we hooks up etc. Deaf Institute would be pretty boss like, and would be my choice - saw King Khan there - stage was quite small tho, couldn't fit his go go dancers on!

Thanks for that. Sounds like there's plenty of options. I was hoping The Cavern rumours last week were true, I'm only 15 mins from there. I'm desperate to see one of these shows but this queuing for hours lark isn't ideal is it, especially when you have a new born baby (suppose I could get back for the 3am feed to keep the mrs happy).

Peter street, the downstairs goes further back too, max 3000, would be perfect. the MEN seems to think its a favorite too. Fingers crossed! I did see a tweet a coulpe of weeks back from the the guy who promotes the venue along with the warehouse project and Parklife, about a meeting with someone big and he made some comments to Prince about 6 months ago, i thought it might have been him announced for Park life but it turned out to be Snoop Dogg. Im so hoping my feelings were right haha

Its bigger than it looks the stage, the dj booth was made massive ontop of it. its easily sorted though if not they can build a stage around it/over to make it larger smile

The MEN would be good in the sense most of us would get in but obviously we'd prefer a smaller intimate venue. If it is the MEN do u think it will tickets?

So they are, isnt a bad venue either, 2000 ish maybe? could work,

if its not tickets id rather them not announce the venue till the day, midday or something would be cool with people being in work i think friday might be the best shot.
