The pajama party night at the last celebration was one of my favorite nights at Paisley Park ever.

But 2am is way too late for this old lady. And $50 seems a little steep for a "dance party".

I hope the folks who go have fun!

After making the trip up to see the Paisley show 2 weeks ago I think I'm crazy enough to go to this one as well. Can anyone give some info on past pajama parties? Is it just PA music or full band performances? I understand that nothing is ever concrete with Prince but I'd like to have some sort of idea.

In the past "dance party" meant just that. A DJ would play and folks would dance. Prince would usually be around, but that didn't mean a show was going to happen. Sometimes he'd come out and sing a little over tracks, sometimes he'd come out and play sometimes you'd just spot him walking around here and there.

Of course in July they billed it as a "dance party" and within about 10 minutes of entering the band took the stage and we got a show, so you really never know.

With the price being $50, think it will be more than a dance party for sure. Have us in our jammies just to listen to remixes and have some cronuts? I would be miffed. smile

I would be too. In my experience, however, it's best to head out to the Park with very low expectations. Better to be pleasantly surprised than pissed over what you thought might happen and didn't.

This may be a stupid question, but is it literally a pajama party?

I would say yes, it is literally a pajama party. Wear your pajamas. Others will be too.

PJ night at the celebration was fun. nod

However, I remember being so freaking hot cuz the A/C was out. I was sweating like a pig. Hopefully, I didn't smell like one. lol pig3

It was SERIOUSLY hot that week in Minneapolis and the A/C at Paisley was out for the entire time. It was so HOT! falloff

Prince was nice enough to take us all to a movie that night just to cool off. I remember being super sleepy at the theater about half way through the movie so I ended up walking back to the hotel by myself in my PJ's and fuzzy flip flop slippers so I could crash. I'm sure that people who drove by me in Chanhassen thought I was a nut. I looked ridiculous walking in my PJ's in the middle of the night. giggle

Interesting. Do we think this is Saturday in the traditional sense? Or will it be Sunday morning?

I am also wondering about this too. Websites are giving conflicting info about which morning it actually is. I assume it is 2AM on Saturday morning but the websites are saying it is early Sunday morning.

I would guess that it is early Sunday morning, or 2 hours after midnight Saturday if that makes it more clear. We have several movie theaters that show late movies, and if they have a listing for Friday at 1 am, they actually mean early Saturday morning, or an hour after midnight Friday.

But that's a guess, and it needs to be more clear.

I once missed a flight that way. The travel agent said Wednesday, quarter after midnight, Wednesday morning came, I was getting ready to fly out that night when it suddenly dawned on me. I checked and realized that the flight had left the night before!!!

What's up with "keep it classy"? Huge Prince fan from the jump but it bugs me that he totally flipped on sexual exhibition/exploration -- not to mention his obsession with young girls and issues with "old skin." Whatever... have fun prudes.

It strikes me as peculiar that a 50+ year old dude is throwing a "pajama dance party"?

It's also peculiar how many sheep will follow.

Also,I know this is a crazy question to be asking when such big news as a pajama party arises but...

WHERE IS THE NEW ALBUM?

This whole thing has turned into a big fucking lame joke.
