I was at MSG on night 1 w/SHEILA E and U got the Look was THE song when Sheila came out!!
I am missing Red Crvette/Be a Lover from tonight...

but REALLY want to see "When Doves Cry" with EGYPT singing !!!
and WHAT you mean Piano Medley ??
He does NOT do FULL versions of these songs !!

Do you know what a medley is? This is most definitely a piano medley.

At the other shows we had these setlists beforehand and then Prince and the band played several additional songs.

yesitsme	Chocolate1: I couldn't agree more about the sound. Terrible! Prince's beautiful voice was garbled, almost distorted(?) and the instruments were muddy and un-musical mix wise. What a disappointment to say the least. Oh well, just good to see him but he should get a better soundman / soundwoman for the next one. I'll be there hoping for a more musical sound. Argh!!!!

Just got back from MSG. It was amazing.... Different from the 12/18 show. Of course that one was "it" for me because of Sheila biggrin

..but this one had some real treats.

I missed Mint Condition and came in midway thru Janelle Monet

Y'all saw the set list. It was kinda weird to start the show with The Beautiful Ones but the crowd loved it and he killed of course, with Misty Copeland doing her thing.

His outfit was really cool. Some short of shiny silvery/purples jacket, then a short black vest made of black paillettes in matte (like giant round sequins but they weren't shiny ) and then a frilly purple shirt (ie a "puffy Hirt").

Te show was very similar in the middle section. Couple thoughts though:

1. The girls seemed like their mikes were turned down this time, maybe overcompnsating for the people who complained that they were too loud??

They didn't do their opening song (disco heat) so maybe they never checked their levels? On Cream you couldn't hear their response during the first verse (where they repeat each last word of the line, "ain't noboday bettahhh". Etc)

2. Great, "full" rendition of Purqple Rain.... But I could swear the band screwed up as Prince was ending his solo....like where he transitions to the guitar melody that foreshadows the "woo oo woo ooo woo ooo's". Like they went into the sustained chords instead of doing the little syncopated "down" chords. Hard to explain but something wasn't right. Weren't following him for a sec.

The Kiss encore was great again. When he did "She's Always in my Hair" I knew Orgers would lose it"

We kept screaming for more and we we're shocked when he came out and did the piano medley. Felt like a real treat. smile

There only a few mins left before the curfew so we put our coats on but the crowd spudboy stop and band came out and did Jungle Love as a true encore! It was really fun and it's great to hear him do "related artist" material.

Yeah that was weird. 12/18 sound was great.

And that was an impersonator in the crowd. From a distance looked like him, but up close it WAS NOT!

Rockin show...played almost 2 hours........Highlights.....He opened with Beautiful Ones then non-stop hits...Let's Go Crazy....Delerious.....1999....Little Red Corvette.....Raspberry Beret.....U Got the Look..Cool....Uptown (Which he dedicated to Teena Marie)....She's Always In My Hair... If Eye Was Your Girlfriend.....and Purple Rain.First Encore was Kiss.....Second Encore was a piano set with Do Me Baby....I Wanna Be Your Lover...How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore...Third Encore was Jungle Love .......with special guest Cyndi Lauper....yes Cyndi Lauper! 4 down one to go!!!!!!!!
