Why is everyone focusing on Arras??

P was offered Arras, Werchter and Roskilde as a 3-gig deal.
All organisors worked together on this.

There is alot of financial unrest in europe right now.. Riots in Greece that have meant that the IMF & European partners have been called in to bail them out.

If the tickets are not selling as quickly as normal I doubt it is soley to do with Princes failed Lotusflower site (but it needs to be taken into consideration of course) We need to factor in that the majority of prince fans like the majority of europe at the moment are increasingly feeling the pinch of the recession.

I would love to attend all three shows, but have only bought tickets to Arras as I have other more pressing priorities... I doubt im the only one in that position. shrug

Greece is not bailed out. (they already spent the money)
The BANKS are bailed out.

So do you imagine the outcome of this gigs being cancelled? broken Not a single fan left in Europe to buy concert tickets or what ever P will try to sell us loser As for me I spend much more than I can but I still think Prince worth it

lol

im not having a go at P-i was just saying

it is extremely unusual for P tix to not sell out straight away

especially the front rows

recession or not

and for the record-I've never really had the cash spare for P tours-but have always gone short so i could attend

so-I think alot of folk still spend on stuff like this in a recession-to cheer themselves up

i way overspent in 2007-but not having the cash didn't stop me

and as he gets loder-P shows are more rare

so i don't buy the recession excuse at all

there is more to this i fear

or-everyticket is GOLD CIRCLE wink

I'm surprised that they haven't sold out because I thought the gold circle at Arras would be much smaller than Werchter.

But things are indeed not great in Europe at the moment. When the recession hit one of the few areas that wasn't affected was entertainment because people wanted an escape from all of the bad news. In the meantime reality has set in and people are faced with the grim reality of losing their jobs so 120 euro can't be as easily justified for one evening's entertainment anymore sad

I never meant that, I mean a start on some promotion or a website etc thats gonna comfirm Prince is gonna show up. There was something on here about a June album being release via the newspapers or magazines, something like that.

Slash brough out his album through a UK magazine a few weeks back and of course Prince has done it before so it sounds like this could possibly happen.

What mag did Slash do his new CD with?

I still don't know about Arras, why does he do these random things and not just book in to the big stadium/arenas. Blenheim Palace and Croke Park...

Kat, in some rock mag in some hard paper back box thingy. Its in WHSmith, i still havent even brought it yet.

He cant sell out stadiums anymore. he never sold out nights completely at the o2 but then again nor did Madonna. I really can't see him ever ever going back to Croke Park again, it burnt a large whole in his pocket. Well, its his fault he should of just played or moved it to a smaller venue, imo.

Either way. If we still don't hear from them and if its stays quiet like this from Prince's camp right up until the shows, we've still gotta go!

But the only thing that is bothering me is them GC tickets not being sold out, Prince can sell out 3,000 GC tickets easily, if thats size, so really dont understand why they're still available.

Why don't you think deeply about this?

What is wrong with Arras?
And why point to Blenheim Palace and Croke Park as big venues?
Why not some big stadium nearby?

Both of the above mentioned are venues for concerts previously cancelled by P. wink

Yes, that I did know.
The context was that he would book big venues and perform there.
While he didn't at the venues named.
And Arras still looks good.

Yes, the man's marketing/communication is non-existent or at least very bad. A PR-department was fired ages ago, let alone some type of `manager`.

hi udo,
I got my golden tickets 3 minutes after the sale started.
Why should I check the german version - the english version is bullshit enough. I don't like these guys who think that they are nostradamus or god himself. These apocalyptic theories, that the world would run into a deeper depression than 80 years ago and we are just one minute away from total chaos - the worldwide economic mechanism today is much different than 80 years ago - and there is something that is known as the self-fulfilling prophecy - so why alway paint the devil on the wall - just think a little positiv.

I mean physical gold, not tickets as protection against moneyprinting.
Byt yes, the tickets are essential too.

Why should I check the german version - the english version is bullshit enough.

Please do elaborate on the why. Perhaps then we can understand the ticketsales perspective around this French 'Croke Park' a bit better.

I don't like these guys who think that they are nostradamus or god himself.

Perhaps they have access to some financial info that you did not yet tap into?

just think a little positiv.

How can we? Look at the -financial- situation the current minds have brought us into? Even a 10-year old could do it better.

So yes I will remain positive about the Arras show. It's less than two months away now! biggrin

I take for granted the concerts are going on. But I fear the promoters might be playing with the capacity of the GC areas. At this point, I could only think of the GC area like 50% of the standing area ... and that wouldn't be too nice, would it?
