Indeed, companies like that never communicate unless things go exceptionally well or bad.

I know exactly what you mean. i feel the same way. To paraphrase his song...we love him but we don't trust him anymore. Its such a shame that he has done so much to damage the relationship he had with so many of his fans. neutral

I agree with u ...actually I think P doesn't have lots of fans ...may I say hardly any?! I'm not a hardcore fan but I do appreciate good music 'cose nowadays is rare to find some. P is great no doubt I'm dying to see him perform

Prince sold out 21 nights at the 02, with a 20,000 capacity that's 420,000 tickets so I think he has a larger number of fans than you think...

cool

lets be honest, they are not known for there music.
They only get a crowd in paris, maybe too lazy to travel?
21 nights in london sold out
las vegas sold out.
1 date in france.....

What more can be said.

co-add - did mention that on another thread - paris would have been much better - but what the hell - did book my flights, my tgv, my hotels - and will be there!!

Only 6?

lol

But seriously: the analysis about the French situation could be true.
Or is advertising to blame?
There was some, but a big enough country-wide moment of attention?
I don't think so.

But at least the more interested, not yet hardcore, fans should be aware...

And don't forget 55,000 tickets were sold for Croke Park. At the time there was all sorts of speculation about poor ticket sales but when it was cancelled we found out how well it had actually sold.

I'm pretty certain the O2 shows didn't sell out. I went three times and there were loadsa spare seats every night. These days "Sold Out" usually means tickets have been sold on to promoters, who never sell them all.

But I'm STILL hopeful for Arras - I have to be, I have tickets!!!

So it depends on who says that they're sold out. I don't blame'em for doing but it is interesting to know the real perspective.

GC is still available...

and then 'book your seats'.

WTF!? Seats?!

As has been said by others I think the high price of the tickets is putting a lot of people off. 80-120 Euros to stand in a huge field is by anyone's reckoning quite a lot to splash out.

Hmm. Yes. Time to ask P to do a SOTT 2010?
Just as a one off to tease us? He has changed lyrics before... wink

But seriously, what about his 'position' in France with the fans?

To all you doubting English fans. Have a look at the current Greek news and see a perspective downwards.
Then read http://www.guardian.co.uk...han-greece and think again.
Better see P this summer before it will get harder to do so in 2011 and later.

I have just had this email back from the North Sea Jazz Festival where Larry Graham is scheduled to play..

My original email..

Larry Graham booked to perform on the 9th July.

This is very strange as I've just purchased tickets to see him perform on that same date with Prince on the Main Festival Square in Arras.

Can you give me any information on this?

Response...

Thanks for your mail. This is indeed a new development but we are
looking at ways to let Larry Graham play both gigs.

Best,

I.e.:
NSJ can have Larry early in the afternoon.
Arras can have Larry in the evening.
(someone has to arrange for that helicopter after all... (or do you want to gamble on traffic...?))

Oh, but with some creative planning from the side of the organisers plus some proven technology w.r.t. transportation it can all be done... cool

I reckon they should helicopter him in, then Larry should then parachute over the crowd right onto the stage, bass in hand ready for action!

But why wouldn't Larry just not cancel his gig to support Prince?

Do find that odd. The plot thickens hmmm

P needs Larry as a mentor.
And there is no scheduling problem, all can be combined and fixed.
Just some flexibility is needed.

Yes it could easily work, the places are not that far from each other.

But im sure by now Larry has mentor Prince long enough and there more close friends now.

I never meant that, I mean a start on some promotion or a website etc thats gonna comfirm Prince is gonna show up. There was something on here about a June album being release via the newspapers or magazines, something like that.

Slash brough out his album through a UK magazine a few weeks back and of course Prince has done it before so it sounds like this could possibly happen.

What mag did Slash do his new CD with?

I still don't know about Arras, why does he do these random things and not just book in to the big stadium/arenas. Blenheim Palace and Croke Park...

What is wrong with Arras?
And why point to Blenheim Palace and Croke Park as big venues?
Why not some big stadium nearby?
